- You generate a lot more focus
- Various skills give you bonuses for perfect dodges
- You can attack immediately after perfect dodges as opposed to rolling

According to people, it's not useless, there is couple skills in the skill tree the complement it which make it essential, just go for them

Hmm ok...it's not much reward for such tight timing.

The reward is not dying and feeling like a badass. Style points. Fun.

in other game that have a perfect dodge mechanic, you usually will able to do a counter attack that would stagger a boss right after a perfect dodge.. that is the reward for you to pull off a perfect timing...

however, in this game, all boss have super armor, so they wont get stagger by any attack, making perfect dodge kinda useless even if you can attack right away, you cant capitalize on it.

making it even worse, there is an upgrade for normal dodge that also allow you to attack right away after dodge.. making it kinda work like perfect dodge.

Focus points are everything in this game and perfect dodges gain focus meter better than anything else.

When you perform every perfect dodges during boss fight, you become one with Wukong.

The skill "Peace From Peril" prevents perfect dodges from interrupting weapon charging. So when you charge your weapon, perfect dodging won't reset your focus.

The focus is huge in combination with resolute strike where you time the heavy damage as the boss is attacking, you pretty much dodge and counter attack at the same time.

Make sure you have "Resolute Counterflow" skill unlocked first.

funny enough, wukung is the last one that would do a perfect dodge considering he has invulnerability, just like superman.. the only way to hurt him is to attack his soul directly =D

The rewards are mostly passive, which is part of the issue with the game. LOADS of passive rewards. In what Universe did they think it was a good idea to have the exact same Light Attack string for the entire FREAKIN game? The stances should have unique attack combos, NOT just the heavy attack. It should be a different style like Tsushima. Each stance is totally different and has specific purposes. It was PERFECT!!! The main strategy here is just charging up your Chi and unleashing heavy attacks without getting interrupted. I'm in Chapt2 and wondering is this IT? That's all? Its why Sekiro was boring as sin. Same couple swings over and over and over again, like 8-bit Castlvania. NO creativity.

Most of all I do it for the dopamine xD
If you get used to perfect dodge, you later can use the same timing for perfect immobilize, and for resolute strike.
Although resolute strike is more forgiving.

Not at all useless, building up focus as fast as possible is essential to winning fights imo, as you need those heavy hits to do as much damage as possible.

The perfect dodge mechanic has been my staple so far, not that I claim to be the best player or an expert as I am most definitely not. But it also lets you know that your timings are perfect as far as learning how to time counters to certain attacks.

Bayonetta still remains best prefect dodge mechanic for me.

I am liking this game alot. But they have alot room to improve combat mechanics on the next game.

I agree; I love the positive feedback from dodges. It lets me know that my timing was good.

The focus bonus, cool factor are just icing on the cake. Same with resolute strike.
