I want to love this game, its just TOO HARD
I play games all the time. I want to enjoy this story. I want top enjoy the rich history and dive into what this game has to offer. I am stuck in the beginning around the Wandering Wiht. Everything boss around can kill with about 3-4 hits and I dont have the reflexes to get better right now.

Elden Ring is WAY harder than this (and i'm talking about base game, not Shadow of The Erdtree which is like 20x harder than Wukong - it took me like 4h to beat rellana and 3h on mesmer lol), honestly i would not even call this game "souls genre" - those games are all about tough difficulty and here you can one-shot 90% of bosses. The game is fine in difficulty though, after all not every game has to be super hard.

Quite frankly, I don't believe you beat Elden Ring if you struggle with this, even with using cheese strategies like mimic and bleed - Wukong is far easier.

ok

Not true at all, Wukong is harder imo.

Elden Ring gives you a lot of tools to make the game easier if you wish to use them (you can summon help and use AI characters called cooperators, or even get a friend to help).

You have no such options in Wukong, you have to use your skill and there are no real cheese strategies as you can use with some Elden Ring fights.

Don't let people gaslight you, this is a very difficult game despite what any 'I'm hard Bruce Lee' characters try to tell you

I thought Elden Ring was quite easy aside from a couple of areas and a couple of bosses. I never played the DLC though. I believe that's mad hard from what I hear about it. Black Myth: Wukong is harder by a mile. No doubt about it.

Elden Ring kinda has an easy mode with summons etc, they just don't label all this stuff as easy mode but it definitely is. But yeah the DLC is actually pretty brutal and I am still stuck on the last boss... well I am not even trying anymore tbh.

Yeah I think Wukong is harder, in a different way but it has no 'easy mode' options that ER does have.

Yes, I agree. Although in Elden Ring the game is pretty big that you can miss some of the stuff that makes it easier. For example I didn't find the mimic until I was pretty far in the game but YEAH WOW that made the game super easy to the point where I stopped using it. This was prior to the nerf I think. Mimic basically had 100% of my hp and damage. Was nuts.

But that being said Wukong does give you easy modes if you do the secret quests in each area. It's just not as insanely OP.

Lol yeah I never found Mimic at all until my 2nd or 3rd play though and I was watching someone else playing and they had Mimic Tear and was like... wtf is that?! I somehow completely missed it somehow in Nokron but I realised I missed a lot in that game each time I finished it.

I feel bad for people like the OP, I think a lot of people were given a very false impression of what this game is and now I am seeing a lot of complaints about the difficulty.

if you indeed beaten elden ring, there is no reason you would find this game too hard... elden ring is a much harder game.

I think it's the dev's fault. They went out of their way to go, "No this is not a souls-like" because I think it's kinda at the point where being a souls-like is a slur for some people or something. It absolutely is a souls-like. Just with a more "action game" twist. It even has the estus flask and bonfires stuff in it. Even has the rest for enemies to respawn. It's so souls like that if it isn't souls like then nothing is.

Yeah I have to agree, even I was trying to tell people 'no it is NOT a souls-like as the devs have said over and over it is not' and I was even arguing with people about it lol. Then I played more than the first hour or two and I realised, damn this is very much a souls-like.

Not sure why the devs were so keen on insisting it isn't a souls-like but rather just an "action RPG" and I also have seen several vids from popular channels where they also say it isn't a souls-like. Which I think has created a lot of people like the OP who really didn't get what they were expecting difficulty wise.

'Its okay to be a souls-like' lol

But souls games are not for everyone
Somdier6 Aug 24, 2024 @ 9:29am
i highly suggest you just repeat the check point before the boss, over and over, and just run in that small area and defeat the easy enemies over and over until you level up...also, dont keep attacking the boss over and over, just do some attacks, stagger him, use the freeze ability, then back up, regain composure and then start attacking against once hes finished his attack arc...it took me like 10 tries, but i was able to beat it and i suck at games like elden ring/dark souls

They must've felt like the label would've lowered sales somehow.

That is my guess tbh

It's a mini boss, you can skip it. I too have a hard time with him, I will do it later in the game.
Respen33 Aug 24, 2024 @ 10:11am
This game is within the same theme space as Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Ghosts of Tsushima. AKA its meant to be hard, and that anything can kill you fairly easily. Bosses or special characters were meant to be challenging and dying is a thing quite often. Ive lost to him now 5 times myself, but each time i get closer. Progress over perfection.
