What's annoying about the last phase for me are the long animations whenever he steals your gourd and does other shenanigans. It was cool the first time, but I can see it getting extremely irritating if you've been fighting this boss for hours lol.
Also, apparently there's an invisible wall in his arena. He somehow got me trapped between it and his Ring of Fire just when he was 3 hits from dying. He then did a multi-hit combo and my dodges were stuck in place. I was about to pull my hair out, so I paused the game, used the Resurrection pill, got killed by his combo (as predicted), resurrected, and then killed him.
♥♥♥♥ that annoying invisible wall crap; it's one of the game's biggest drawbacks. If the game's gonna cheese me, I'm gonna cheese it right back. And I literally never used an item throughout the entire game.
3rd phase spammed charged heavy attack slam. 4th (hardest) phase used a ton of cloud step (more charged heavy) and pluck of many, and used the loong transformation (see through attack) very useful.
Hope that helps!
You can skip the Gourd stealing scene by holding down A (or whatever your equivalent is).
And yeah, that attack where he bounces you around, then throws your staff back to you, is really annoying. I still can't figure out what triggers it, or how to avoid it.
