Would be interesting if Game Science can make a Wo Long like game tho, with big battles and weapon choices and everything.
Game Science was pressure by Tencents to change the game. Not sure in what way... but a standart educated guess would be very accurate.
They said they would... but then didn't. The whole development was done in an enclosed room with pretty tight security. And people from Tencents were trying to get in without success.
Game Science even put up a sign that said something along the line "we know who you are, you'll never get a glimpse of what we're doing"
Not sure how much truth there is to it... but it was spread around a few years back.
That's why you don't see anything about China in this game.
Wukong and the AAA SP model gives better image than the constant low effort looking mobile games from Tencent.
Should tell the same to the US DoD with Activision's annual Call of Duty then. That's purely government propaganda.
I totally forgot about Wo Long.
I never finished the game because it wasn't fun anymore after a few hours. Not sure why.... might revisit it
It turns out swell tho. Still sold over 1 mil copies and made money.
I'll definitely revisit it.
I remember I had a blast in the few hours. Wonder why I gave up on it.
