Lies of P, Lords of the Fallen, The Surge 2 are Soulslike games.
Edit* oh yea those are sparks. But still you use them for leveling gear and spirits like you do with souls.
that's saying it is the only important factor of any souls game. but that's not the case.
he is in fact pretty spot on (edit: with the factors of what would make a game souls like)
personally the biggest factors to me are
-Difficult bosses that require you to learn and master the mechanics and patterns
-Bonfire like checkpoint system
-Limited heals like flasks
Not every game is going to have every single factor the same (that would be rather boring)
so if it has enough of the factors it makes it a souls like to me and many others.
(I would like to point out I'm arguing what makes a souls like. not if this game is a souls like)
EDIT
nvm I just saw your replies to the 'will' currency, you haven't played the game, you are just making generic stuff up after seeing a couple of video, gotcha
I'd argue that's the *broken* set-up that most "hardcore players" would avoid. I mean, couldn't you just rock most of soulslike games with a ranged/magic build? Oh, but so many will end up with a melee build because it's more challenging and fun.
Having more heals from the gourd is moreso an accessibility upgrade for the hardcores not just putting +dmg in their drinks.
