He rears up then falls down slowly when you can do damage. It's very easy to spot the difference.
Not saying it's a good fight, I dislike it too because of the camera and such, its just how you beat it, thats all. I noticed if you're just standing at his feet, you'd rarely get hit by an attack, just dodge the stomp one then punish.
The Tiger: PHENOMENAL
Weird cat dragon ball... thing...
I guess game science were all not well that day or something.
This is easily the worst boss in the game so far. It has all of the problems of Elden Ring's Fire Giant bossfight and none of the spectacle.
1. It is gigantic, which can be done well, but its messy visual design obscures the camera a lot of the time you are standing under it, making it often impossible to see what it is doing.
2. Its hitboxes are absolutely horrendous, particularly on the laser blasts which seem to go right above my head and yet still hit me.
3. The grab attack has way too long of an animation, a super-ultra weird hitbox and more often than not sets you up for the follow-up laser flurry, which has an equally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hitbox, often requiring in a wipe.
4. Its gimmick is blatantly stolen from Elden Ring's Fire Giant - hit the weak leg 50000 times to do any damage, crit, rinse and repeat. Fuban even already sorta did the same thing with his weak spot being his front leg. Fuban was a bad bossfight, this takes everything that was bad about that fight and elevates it to new heights.
Only thing I liked was the efficiency puzzle that was its glowwy head: once you stun it for head strikes, it is up to you to make the most of the time frame you get to beat its brains in. This is the first bossfight I deliberately went for 4-focus attacks due to 1 of mine taking off nearly half its HP at one point.
So far, all of act 3's bosses have been bad. The skydragon was cool, but it spent too much time flying around away from the actual fight and Mr. Laser-Wizard was tedious - staff spin purple projectiles, dodge lasers, hide behind giant rock whenever he put on his laser show. I really hope for boss design to pick up: act 2 had a bunch of cool bosses.
Whiteclad Noble, Yin Tiger, Yellow Loong, and maybe a couple others gave me more grief than him.
