You can make Elden Ring easier or harder based on how you play. Wukong from what I've experienced (in Chapter 3 now) is fairly linear in progression and easier.
If you think Elden Ring is harder (more difficult) than Wukong I would suggest looking up some tips and guides on YouTube.
I completed Demon's Souls Remake and there are no summoners. And Steelrising.
Anyway. I think that it's good when player can use summoners if it's needed. It's better for player to complete the game with summoners instead of not complete the game cos of difficulty.
I bet that less than 30% of gamers will complete Wu Kong if they won't make the final boss easy,
Elden Ring has spells(ranged attacks) you can cheese a LOT of bosses with, summons and weapon arts that can also cheese bosses. You will STILL run across road blocks, but unless your gamer pride forces you to mano y mano, the more options you get make it more approachable, Such as using a big honking shield. Most of the times I kept getting my arse handed to me was because I was fighting something way too high level and refused to come back later when I was better leveled and equipped, do not fall for that trap.
I would not skip out on Elden Ring out of fear of it being too hard,
I absolutely hate summons (ie: summon other players or spirits), it is a ♥♥♥♥ mechanic that is used as a bandaid for poorly thought out bosses.
