But i think it depends on the different fighting styles between these two games: GoW has more common enemies while WuKong has more boss.
For the common enemies especially with huge amounts, it's useful and playful to try different combos. But for boss, complex combos are fancy but not practical, the most important thing is to interact with boss, to remember his combos and react, and each boss is different. the three types of stance have already enough.
For me, the endless common enemies in GoW makes me bored, and it's hard to remember too much combos. I prefer the different enemy types.
