Stuck at white robe guy
I can get into the 2nd phase but cannot beat him. Not going to be able to enjoy the rest of this game.

Watch other people beat him and try to emulate?

fightingcowbow?
itsjavachip?
asmongold?

...pretty much the baseline for any souls like, souls lite and souls itself.

ps. staying ontop of him already makes the fight a lot easier.

I disagree entirely, he punishes over aggressiveness really well. People struggling will only do worse trying to aggressively take him down.

My recommendation for this boss (both phases)...

Keep your distance and learn his charge moves... They are easy to doge and leave him open to be attacked for a good chunk of time. This boss is best beat by playing defensively.

This boss becomes much more dangerous if you aggressively try to approach him rather then let him try to approach you.

For his second phase, his attacks are FAR less combo-ie and just tend to have a wide AOE. So it almost easier then the first phase because he doesn't link as many attacks together at one time.

I did him second try by staying ontop of him, doging and applying sheer number of combos.

For this 1st round this melted him, then on second round you should have saved that fire blade transformation for it + one of your other transforms and then use it. It's rather quick fight and over before you know it.

But if you going to face roll him from afar or close you are ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I would suggest you try different tactics then. If you change your build around it can make a big difference. The stance that allows you to sit your staff worked pretty well for me. Also the transformation was alot more useful than i thought it would be.

thanks guys. I appreciate the hints. I will try that

You misunderstand..
He can be beaten by playing aggressively, but that is the HARDER way to beat him. When someone is asking for help, I generally give them the EASIER way to beat him because usually the harder (but possibly more efficient way) will not help them.

Sure, afar felt like a lot of work compared to playing him skillfully up and close; why I said this is pretty much baseline for any of these games. However, whatever works works and kill is a kill.

Jumping heavy attacks helped me alot in this fight to gap close and re-engage him; instead of him slithering around you like crazy and trying to walk after him, especially in second phase. nice side effect was randomly dodging his tail swipes aswell ^^

he punishes button smashing alot, take it a tat slower and focus on dodging and you'll find more success. from there on out its just learning what he does.

Generally speaking, mixing in jump attacks also works wonders. I mean you are a monkey, think monkey fighting style. lol.

the problem with White Robe guy is that he has to many area denial attacks that are in an arc. if u dodge his thrust he just area denials and you are hit and staggered

Laughs in Promised Consort Radahn's denials.

here's one way to do it
on first phase, keep a certain distance to bait his easy-to-dodge range moves, you can use your wolf transformation here if you feel pressure. keep your drinks to the second phase. on second phase try to run into the snake man, stand on his tail and spam. there is a glitch in his AI, if you're super near him, either he'll use a low dmg move so you can just trade dmg with him, or he'll try to run away doing nothing. Repeat these steps till you beat him.
Potches Aug 23, 2024 @ 10:06am
Stay close, it lowers his arsenal of abilities. Killing big blue baby also helps, he drops a +20 def trinket. This guy moves around alot, jumping Heavy is a great gap closer

this guy moves to you in a 10th of a second and hits you. Seems to me that he is real difficult to dodge. Keeping your distance just seems to make him fly at you.

That is the move you really need to learn the dodge timing on, because it's one of the easier moves to dodge and leaves him open the longest.
