Is this game all about boss fights? (no spoilers pls)

First the graphics are superb and the environment is amazing!

Well, I am looking for strategies to complete the scene/stage and various puzzles. Don't get me wrong, I like boss fights! This is just my preference, to each its own.

Just asking, currently in snake area.

The first chapter is a boss rush and is the shortest chapter. The others are a lot bigger and will have many secrets.

that is what i am thinking now, but were almost on a similar progress so we can't still judge

It is mostly boss fights, some exploration to find more boss fights, some story time to get to boss fights, and sometimes, just story.

first chapter? how to know that? isn't snake area on second chapter already?

You can learn more about the original "Journey to the West" to help understand the storyline in the game.

Yes. The core part of gameplay is focused on boss fights. And the boss fights are incredibly well designed. However, there are a lot of optional and secret bosses that are discovered via exploration. Many secret bosses can only be unlocked after completing certain tasks, quests, or finding hidden items.

Outside of overall combat, there's exploring zones to look for loot and admiring the attention to detail. The gameplay is very similar to Sekiro in that regards

Don't go in expecting some open world experience like TW3 or RDR2 where you can go hunting or playing card games

yeah, I dont expect those card games or minigames, its just I was thinking of GoW or Prince of Persia type puzzles

You would 10 out of 10 enjoy this game if you google some basic knowledge of the novel, Journey to the West, and play through the game with patient, search every corner, talk to every NPC, and reward yourself hidden bonus and storylines.
