at least you tried
Well it if you're looking for a purely RPG adventure then you may be disappointed. This is no Witcher 3 etc and despite what some people inexplicably claim, this is a souls-like more than it is an action RPG like God of War which it seems to be compared to over and over
I see, so far it just seems like mostly just boss game really
Well it is a bit of a boss rush at times, simply because there are so many bosses I guess.
But it also has some very high quality production cut scenes and story segments that add a nice touch and I guess that is where some of the God of War comparisons come from.
I do think some people have been very misled as to what kind of game this is and I have reviewed it warning people this is not an easy game. I have had responses to my review that are just absurd, one recent one claims it is like Assassins Creed lmao!
I love the game but I love the souls genre, others may not appreciate this aspect at all
I think the OP alludes to using the cheats in the edited post. Since it's not an online game I suppose I don't have much opinion outside of I've never used any sort of cheats that weren't actually built into the game which was common in old school games.
As for difficulty options for greater accessibility I honestly don't know if I agree. On one hand, I suppose I shouldn't care because people can just adjust to their own liking. I do get that point and I can't say it doesn't make sense.
However i also see the point of artistic goals and experiencing something at the intended level. A really good example to me is Sifu. It's a game that was designed on its basic difficulty called disciple. Later in development they added a master mode and a student mode. Student mode truly changes the experience tremendously to where it changes the actual special feel of the game. And even the same can be said for the master mode. Of course loving the game I'll prefer master mode to student, but arguably disciple is the best way to play the game because it's how the entire game was developed. Other modes just add or subtract more artifical difficulty factors.
In this game, people can continue to level up as they replay each area they are stuck in which would eventually have them make progress. The game is very forgiving in you don't lose what you earn when you die.
Finally, i grew up in NES and SNES days where you may be stuck for a long time on a level. It's a great feeling to make real progress and this game is a pretty good middle ground to that or traditional souls games imo. Most people consult guides automatically as evidenced by millions of views on streamer walk through and secrets guides day 1.
I'm not going to waste my time grinding.
Cheating is so much more enjoyable.
There are plenty of other games to enjoy where I don't have to grind either.
