I think its more about clutter and the game not being open world so you don't have much choice about who you fight. If the map was a bit webbed with coke points then I'd see it as less of a problem.
This game feels a bit close to devil may cry or a mobile game in combat with souls lite features, so I guess i expected that kind of map.
Thats not true but I dont argue with someone who apparently has truely zero idea about the topic. Animation work and balance takes far more time than creating maps. Let me tell that to you as someone who created tons of maps with various map editors.
Sure there are tons of invisible walls that are annoying af. But thats a lazy way to stop people from exploiting the ♥♥♥♥ out of the game like people do with fromsoft games.
you might need to learn a thing or two about video game design... level design is basically the easiest part as majority of the work has already been done during concept art stage.
