How to jump in sand? Need help with Tiger Relic

I'm trying to get the tiger relic in chapter 2 and I know you have to jump while in the sand, but my guy wont jump at all. I've tried it in various different positions, including as people have described in videos and online, but my guy just wont jump at all. Is there something more I have to do for him to jump? A certain mechanic that I am missing? Everyone seems to be doing it no problem, but it seems impossible to get him to even jump in the sand at this point. Any tips for this please? Thanks!

I was able to do it when I accumulated one concentration point, then the blow was higher.

If you are a PC player, press the CTRL button and right-click to trigger a double jump
