Then halfway the fight he will actually use a health potion if you use a health potion, which is so unfair.
I just don't get it.
I mean i might be able to immobilize him when he tries hitting with the big stomp from above, but it's only possible if it's not on cooldown, so that is barely a sustainable option.
My real problem is his huge AOE when in the final phase, which he just enters randomly, and if you are not accidentally in the right position your dodge won't be far enough to escape the area of effect.
addendum. dont only dodge once. sometimes when he passes you after you dodge him he will Immediatly after that go for a second attack WITHOUT the "explosion" indicator. so be ready to dodge roll again after he passes you.
Also Immobelize can usally put him out of "wind-mode" so i would not use spell until he does that.
Had to use fiery swords twice in the fight, to be sure he didn't oneshot me with one of his combo's near the end.
I swear, this guy smashed me with a very sketchy combo like 3 times when he had 1-2 % health left.
From the position i had at the moment he initialized this combo, i do not think i could have evaded enough of the attack to survive.
But neither do i think i could predict he would be using that combat at that given moment.
So basically to survive his last phase without special tricks, the only way is to keep your distance at basically all times, like just play really carefully, not taking too much risk.
Personally i got him on the 2nd try, as a souls vet he is a pretty standard fight. Predictable combos and no overly delayed attacks to bait out dodges. Plus there is an item that gives you fire immunity for ringing the 3 bells, so half his damage goes away.
He often does a random combo of like 4 attacks when he is very low on health, and if you are close to him before he starts it, you can't properly dodge it.
And this just impossible to foresee.
I was stuck on the first battle for like 3.5 hours, which means it's not ez at all.
I still need to do the battle on the op of the mountain, which i have no idea if it's harder or similar.
Sometimes it's harder to some, ezier to others.
He was the hardest boss up to there for me.
I had trouble with whiteclad noblemen, but the other bosses in chapter one were fairly doable.
But noone seems to ever had the issue of the black wind king coming up with a four smash combo when he has 1 % health left, which happened 3 times to me.
And 3 times i could not dodge it.
The time i won i was fire wolf when i killed him.
