Puts my PC to sleep
I had it put my PC to sleep a few times, the first being right after the Whiteclad Noble fight. Now right after defeating the Black Wind King during the cutscene. I've beat him twice and I'm pissed after booting my PC up again seeing his smug bald headed face.

Could it be because your system is overheating?

Sleep or shutdown?

It not going to sleep. If its turning off. Its probably an overheating CPU or a PSU issue.

Last time this was an issue they had to disable underclocking or overclocking from bios and flash bios to the new version , fixed all problems.

Well I figured out a fix for now, tabbing out during the cutscene stops it from shuting off. Also the fans would shut off but the lights remained on the power never shut down fully either.

If you run one Super-Pi per core or FurMark, how is your machine doing?
Because if it shuts down, that's as others have already said it : it's overheating.
You'll want to fix the issue at its core.

check event viewer , if it says kernel power 42 its smth else likely then overheating , the topic i shared will explain some steps for troubleshooting and potential fixes.
Nowadays it seems that flashing ur bios seems like a main reason for the random shutdowns , especially if its power kernel its almost always either outdated bios , faulty PSU or smth weird going on with the ram , depending if this problem accurs in more then 1 game or program it becomes easier to detect.

this might be related to overheating or your psu is shutting down due to overload. i had the same experience when is used raytracing with hogwarts legacy reproducable. i replaced the thermal take psu with a bigger one from seasonic prime series and it worked great since then.

what you could try is enabling vsync disabling frame generation and if vsync is not enough (might be if you use a 120 or higher fps monitor) you can lock the framerate to 60

Overheating on a side note will first trigger thermal throttle , When this accurs ull first get a huge fps drop for x amount of minutes before it would shut down cus of it.

It was only occurring during the cut-scene and there was no fps drop, also this is the only game this has ever happened on. My CPU temps were sitting under 100 F (95F). I'm thinking this is most likely a one off scenario until the game patches release. The crashes happened twice, Once immediately after defeating The Whiteclad Noble post cut-scene and during the cuts-scene of the boss fight mentioned in the original posting. If It happens again I will be back here updating you all, for now im just going to make a habit of tabbing out of cut-scenes and watching the application and temps.

It's a bit old and could probably do with an update I have a X570 Arorus Master and it's got version F33c

Go for it , it will likely solve it alltogether.

This sounds like a PSU issue. Some older power supplies even if they come from a reputable brand and are supposedly "high-end" cannot deal with the transient spikes on newer graphics card. Your PC can shut off randomly in demanding games/scenarios. I've personally experienced this until I switched to a newer model power supply.
