How long is the main story

I'm still confused, is it 15 hours or 40 hours?

15 hours if you have guide and already remember all the moves and is RTA/speedrunner.

40 hours if you are average gamer that runs around, stuck at a boss. Complete some of the sidequests. etc.

15 hours in and I'm in Chapter 3.

I did try my best explore every little bits of the map though. Never spend more than 3 or 4 tries fighting a boss and only around 3 times where I didn't just one try them.

Edit: I do have to mention that I ran into the final boss almost always hours before I finished done exploring the map and doing side missions.

It really depends on your skill, ability and previous knowledge.

Depends, if you know little tricks to get sparks early on to up your skills early on, we had to be very efficient at it. I knew ahead of time so I jumped in and got my skills looked up very quick, but even with that, it is definitely longer fifteen hours.

Later on, you may be up to speed, run it in that or if you do straight story, only skipping stuff in the little tracks, but that's pushing it.

To get certain guilty skills unlocked the painted realm and different things like that.It takes a longer time, cause you have to do special bosses with characters to move them to certain areas and unlock those areas. All that takes time.

And if you're wanting to get full epicur and up the stats in its level of the epic year, that's gonna take a lot of time as well. Even If you know the secrets to farming, define gold thread, another material for the epic gear and to increase its ability and upgrade it that alone will take you many, many, many hours. In order to go on to the heart of difficulty. Trust me. You need a minimum of a full set of epic care scored up inability to have 4or more of the crucial pendants on

If you rush the game its about 15 hours but closer to 20.
If you take your time, do some farming, enjoy the view, try out different loadouts and search for loot it will be around 30.
Keep in mind that there is a true ending and a new game plus, this changes the new game plus even more.
You are expected to finish it twice

The game is 6 chapters long, and I'm deep into Chapter 2 at 10 hours, but I still feel like I have missed a lot in Chapter 2 so I'm going exploring to make sure that I see everything before getting to the final boss. I just beat the Tiger Vanguard for reference.
