Any use for Gold Ridge Beast?

I picked up two of these, one I bought for 12,800 from a merchant and the other I don't quite remember but I think it dropped from a boss. It shows up in the Sell screen for vendors to sell for 6,000; has anyone found another use for it or is the vendor one just a trap? He also sells a sober stone for ~6k that I think is also something you don't need as you can find one exploring for the boar guy so I'm guessing he has two items that are just traps to waste your money?

The merchant is a scumbag and screwed you over, selling it for 12K when it resells for 6K. Anything that shows up in the sell list is not used for any quest. Now that you have 2, you at least get your 12K back.

The man is stone is a scammer and you should only buy the soak (iron pellet) and the curios (Goldflora Hairpin) for achievements.
His pricing is also a jab at gacha games prices being multiplies of 128, 328 and 648.

Yep, and the stone for the monk in yellow robes you can find it in the village behind the tiger temple, no need to buy it from him either.
