i explored a lot with the little guy, but I didn't know there was going to be a missable boss at this point
steamapps\common\BlackMythWukong\b1\Saved\SaveGames <-- this is your current save files
There are three folders of save back ups in the bckup folder location.
1) Real time back up
2) Hourly backup
3) Daily backup
Depending how far ahead you are, you could lose up to 1 hour or more of progress. a small price to pay for perfection. now before you go and start changing out your save file, make sure you take your current save files and store it some where safe just in case, as you may not find what you're looking for, you can simply restore those.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, everyone had assumed that the cut off of point for this boss being available is when the pig head guy disappears. this is not actually the case. the actual cut off point is entering the Valley of Ecstasy for the first time. as this boss is seen flying ahead of you while you're sliding down the snowy hill, regardless if you fought it or not.
If you did not interact with the snake bones and you have not advanced into the valley yet, then you may simply go back to the snake bones and run into it. a cutscene should trigger and the bat boss appears for battle, even without the pig head guy. once you beat it, interact with the snake bones and go grab the turtle's tear.
(i discovered this by reverting to an earlier save, right after pig head guy leaves me, i had not yet interacted with the snake bone area prior)
Note: if the cut scene does not trigger, but you see the option to interact with the snake bones, then do not interact with the snake bones because once you do, you are cut off from this boss triggering (at least in my testing). you still get the turtle's tear by interacting with the snake bones regardless. so go rest or reload until the boss appears. it may be a bug that it does not show up when it should.
Hope this helps!
THX!
i got the little one back with a save from the backup
i`m 21 hours in... and i woud have missed it by like one hour ahead
That's better than me! i didn't try this til after i scoured and beat chapter 3, hoping it'd reappear. (maybe it does but i have not been as thorough as i think!) so i ended up losing about 4 hours of progress for the sake of perfection! :P
