Question on charged heavy attack

if you have focus and do a heavy attack and consume focus, is that still considered a charge attack to do you actually have to hold the button down first?

I was looking for the same thing. Since you don't charge the heavy attacks, I dont think so & want to put the sparks towards something else. If someone knows, please lmk as well!

Im also wondering how to use focus and how to charge heavy attacks - the game could really do a better job at explaining basic mechanics!

afaik it isn't the charging that causes a charged heavy attack it's using at least 1 focus that causes you to use a charged heavy attack.
