Am I the only one? This game looks... bad.
Overwhelmingly positive reviews and I cant find anyone mentioning this but the game just looks bad - no matter what settings i use its flickering and shimmering like crazy. There is artefacts all around my character whenever i move he *sparkles*

I've tried a bunch of different settings and funnily enough the game looks best when the graphics are set as low as possible and RTX on.

Im playing 3440x1440p on a 3080 - the FPS is fine just everything looks overly sharpened to the point of distraction,

Here's a way to remove the sharpening and flickering, add it to your game folder and open the .ini file, set 'DisableSharpening' to 'true'

This fix really helped because the graphics on my oled monitor were also very poor, everything was too sharp and objects around were flickering. You need also reduced the motion blur or disable this..

@OP
Yes, you are the only one. The game looks absolutely amazing.

I watched several streams and from what I have seen so far, the game looks absolutely beautiful and amazing.

It does look unimpressive at the first glance. Close-up objects look furry and oversharpened. I guess the devs still have something to learn. Overall graphics is still on-par, very lively.

It looks awful too on my 2560x1440 monitor dunno why but when i switch pc to oled tv 4k 120hz it’s gorgeous, maybe some monitor looks trashy like mine when playing wukong, coz the game doesn’t have hdr and the auto sharpening is kinda dissappointing.
pretty sure you are in the minority.

May I know your monitor model?

you are right, game looks terrible. Over sharpened, making foliage and all fur flicker. Playing on highest settings on a 4k oled.

One of the best looking games I have ever played.

The sharpening is an unreal engine thing though. There are mods on nexus that tell you how to turn this down (you can actually do it simply with an ini line of code. There's a post on Steam somewhere about it but it's listed under a topic having to do with shadows)

Game is looking terrible for me honestly, using an RTX 4070 and i'm struggling for 90fps in 1080p. With the performance issues aside, the game still looks terrible o.o Looking like ps2 graphics in most areas for me even on Very High settings (maybe i need to restart my game? Seemed good at 1st).

But my #1 issue with the game by far right now.. Is the Shadow being far too dark and the light being too bright/creating bloom. The brightness in the shadows are just absolutely terrible for me but i'm loving the gameplay

https://prnt.sc/JilRIeDE8C8n Majority of the game is just far too dark

From what I've seen of let's play videos, this game looks like a 7 out of ten at best and certainly not worth the $90 price tag here in Australia. I am going to hold off on purchasing this game until there is a solid discount. Hopefully any and all bugs would have been sorted out by then.
