For me and I'm sure for others as well its not that fun to fail alot. and this game will bonk you alot if you cant cope with that you generally wont like this game that much. but I wouldn't criticise much about the games combat its freaking fantastic.
I just hope i don't get stuck on any bosses. a few of them killed me far more times than I'd like to admit. usually its because you have to approach a boss in a certain way and sometimes that means backing away which seems counter productive but dead monkeys cant bonk. Keep in mind guys, you probably are lacking loads of skills at the beginning of chapter two. maybe try changing your skills to the moves you are spending most of your time using that should help.
I don't feel that way. But i hear you, I just feel like some of these boss moves are hard to predict sometimes.
Blocking is a spell you get in chapter 2.
lol
there is a stone form that works as a block , and a certain ability attached to your potion that allows you to use it without consuming mana aswel, It is a choice between a shadow attack move, it essentially is the block in this game and it works great but takes some great timing to use effectively and there are some monsters that is is quite essential for I'd say.
So there is your block, another think to know is sometimes its best to keep moving in a fight running in certain directions and then you can dodge left right through or back. and each boss will require a different method depending on the moves its using aswell.
Hope this helps.
Problems people playing 1 attack, 3 dodge rolls games are not used to this.
While the game is easy, everyone mashes buttons and i dislike this as well but new game plus will make players use more brain cells.
The combos can be switched and improved, the spells are nice, heavy attacks can be strong, spells and skills plus morph is definetly a big plus.
Graphics look great except what FPS are you getting? On YT, I see the monkey running like in slow motion - is this the same for those playing?
I also don't see monkey encounters many enemies in between check points.
It's getting quite brutal. But in the end, just like sekiro, it's a rhythm game.
Attack attack, dodge. Attack. Dodge. And adjust for various enemies.
Wait for magic cooldown
Wait for focus cooldown
The better your timing, the easier it gets.
If you liked sekiro, you'll most probably like this one too.
You start off mashing light into heavy but will get to the point where you where you're light attacking more carefully, parrying, perfect dodging, mixing in spirit attacks, building up and saving focus to max, timing your spells, and other stuff as you get more skill points
Also, I swear, the bosses are a yap fest. Only to the white clad noble thus far and i'm already sick of their constant talking. Actually appreciated the noble's dialogue getting cut abruptly if you whack him
It started to feel like a repetitive slog of light attack spam sprinkled with heavy... and it is that to start and can effectively be that until the end. BUT!!
There are some latent talents on the skill trees that really open up combat to become more stylistic and I just don't mean the stances that affect your heavy attack:
Talents that retain your light combo progress after a dodge, and varied combos blinking through attacks, will change up the monotony.
right now its only dodge rolling, maybe the devs wanted it different to Sekiro and Wo Long and the like.
