hot graphics card
is anyone else's gpu STEAMING hot (like 80-85C) while playing the game? It makes me nervous...

Mine is running around 80, I have a 3060 12Gb every think turned up full but at 1080p since that's my native resolution. Honestly 80 doesn't worry me 85 would start to. It is making heavy use of your card and when heavily loaded they tend to run hot.

yes 80 for me as well
is normal for good looking games
and not "hot" for a gpu really :summeryeti:

Your GPU will get hotter if it has to work harder. Don't worry, it's designed to do that. Not a problem unless your cooling isn't set up correctly.

well yes, of course the gpu would be hotter if it has more work to do, I just generally don't like it when it hits 80+C. but good to know that it's not sth f'd with my gpu. Thanks for the help!

Don't have upscaling on I presume?

You could also ramp up the fan curve....

Temperature depends on the card. But generally speaking 80c is acceptable under extreme load. You do however need good airflow to prevent the air around the components from becoming so hot the temperature will continue to climb.

It’s absolutely normal for a GPU to be 80-85C because it’s working its ass off and your room had also heated up after 2 hours of gaming. As long as it’s not thermal throttled it’s not an indication of problem.

85°C is a bit too high, you might lose some turbo boost at that temp.
try to stay below 80° by adjusting you fan curve

4090 here. With custom fan curve and max settings - 54c max in 3440x1440 with cap at 120fps

80 is okay

Its not nice in the warm summer, but getting 80-90 degrees (Celsius) is nothing to worry about for demanding games. Especially with newer GPUs, since they take a lot of power.
