There is no such thing, and I dare you to gather as many people as you want to "review bomb" this game, I'll congratulate you if you can even manage to drop off 1% of the score.
Every bad revierw in Steam was legitimate, and every positive one in this game is also legitimate, your conspiracy theories are just a way to cope with the fact that there is almost literally noone on your side, so it's always some "review bomb" or "it must be bots", no, the entire world just hate everything you stand for.
It has undoubtedly attracted a lot of toxic American culture warriors, which really has little to do with the game itself and more to do with their reactionary response to some IGN articles.
However personally as a Brit. who grew up in the 80's watching Monkey Magic it's the character of the Monkey King and the story of journey to the west that attracted me.
That said I first encountered this game when I'd been playing around with some amateur games development in UE5 and wanted to find some examples of nanite and their dynamic lighting system being used to full advantage in a commercial game. That's how I found it and of course them my love of the monkey king mythology hooked me.
Now I've played it a bit and it looks amazing they have made good use of nanite in the environments and the characters look amazing too. It's pretty linear but following in the footsteps of journey to the west this makes sense it's a narrative beat'em up with character development I would say and it's a good one.
It's not a live service ARPG and doesn't try to be, it's not an open world game and doesn't try and be that either it's a game telling a story and if you like the story you will love the game. It's also just fun to play and looks great.
honestly it's doing a bad job at telling the story, the game fully expects the players to know the journey to the west book.
it's more of a "HEY LOOK IT'S X CHARACTER FROM THE BOOK" then a actual retelling of the story ina video game format.
i only know small things about journey of the west and the entire time i failed to see why i should care for any of the characters i'm meeting and fighting
When all the losers come out spewing hate and troll topics about how popular the game is, you know it's good.
