Pathtracing is bugged
RTX 4090 system. Maxed out settings with Pathtracing at 4k res. Game drops from 100 fps to 21 fps whenever I enter any kind of menu, including shrines. The fps does not come back to normal and the game requires a restart. How tf is this happening?????? Is it trying to pathtrace the menus?????????

You’re wrong. The game does not feature raytracing. Only pathtracing. Read the in game description. Also, it was confirmed that it is pathtracing because it divides your frames by almost 4 times. It’s called “full raytracing” in game. That’s pathtracing

Also, I have a 4090. You don’t seem to know a lot about GPUs. My 4090 gets bottlenecked by any CPU on the market at 1440p and 1080p. If I were to play at 1440p, my game would stutter like crazy.

I also double checked to make sure it’s pathtracing. With raytracing, the information is not enough to reconstruct realistic lighting. It always mixes RT with Global Illumination. I set Global Illumination to low and the game looks identical as on Cinematic when pathtracing is enabled. Same for shadows, (unless they are out of PT range) reflections, and caustics

You play with frame generation. I don’t. Too much input lag and the game has a weird visual bug for the snow areas.

I just created a thread about my issue with GPU degradation.

Are you by chance describing the same issue in my vid?

I'm searching and trying to find others to see if its just my rig or if a solution exists, but something is really wrong with this game... its unplayable unless I pause/unpause for a brief second.

Benchmark in my vid towards the end, in the same session runs fine!

Pause menu, runs fine! This sucks, it seems like some sort of memory leak on the GPU side.

Yes with FG, have no issue and have no imput lags, use nvidia rexlex for that.

"No input lag..."

Yea, chief, there is ALWAYS INPUT lag, you may not perceive it, but FG in this game, this game is HEAVY on the best GPU, and input-lag (even with my series X controller) is noticable.

I also play without FG on my 4090 @4k DLSS Performance for the best responsiveness, (you get reflex and BOOST, unlike framegen which only grants you reflex and additional input-lag.)

Dude... Latency exists in all forms.

I don't know if you are trying hard to not understand, or just being weird.

There is no such thing as, "no input lag" theres latency between you pressing a button and response on ANY screen on planet earth today. SteamDeck or not.

Again, YOU may not perceive, but there is a measurable delay.

OMG! Yes. The exact same thing is happening to me when I open menus or interact with shrines. The exact same problem. I don’t know how it’s for you, but for me, degradation appears after having opened a menu before. If I play without pausing the game, it runs normal. If I pause the game then go back and play for a bit, I drop to low fps
