As a Chinese player I had to say it's not about the nations, wukong is proven to be a very excellent game. Any attempt to use nations to explain wukong's achievements is pathetic.

This post is so American I struggle to cope how low the intelligence of whoever typed this is.

- Gaming time limit is on kids for the mobile garbage (yes the same ones corrupting your children), nobody cares about Steam really.
- The Monke is Sun Wu Kong. "Goku" is the Japanese version of Sun Wu Kong, not the other way round. Same way like how Americans are the fat-ass version of British, but not the other way round.

Over 80% of sales are from China. China's massive population supporting a Chinese game is the only reason for these massive sales numbers. Without the Chinese population's support, Black Myth would never surpass a far superior game with true international appeal, such as Elden Ring.

Seeing how the majority of western generations, specially the younger ones, are doing nothing but sitting behind their screens, and lack in education and rational thinking, that might not be a bad thing tbh.

For Steam. it is more likely 50/50. The 300k is when it is almost midnight in China and very early morning in the West. Most Chinese actually got their game from their local distributor WeGame not Steam. There are reportedly over a million active players in China which if added to steam will total 3m+ players. So more or less 2/3 is from china while 1/3 from the rest of the world. This game also seems to be selling well now in Korea and Japan.

Source? If it's the theory that the percentage of reviews in Chinese = the percentage of the playerbase that is Chinese, that's probably a deeply flawed conclusion, and it doesn't require particularly high intelligence to see why.

This game is about Chinese mythology and features actual places in China. National pride is a big deal in China, so a game that represents China in such a fashion may provide a lot of motivation for Chinese players to write a positive review -- motivation that non-Chinese players aren't going to have. Hence, a high percentage of the reviews end up being Chinese.

I'm glad I was here to elucidate on that for you.

It's not entirely national pride....

A lot of us Asians grew up with Chinese mythology. Western games don't really touch Chinese mythology or when they do, ♥♥♥♥ it up by injecting Western crap into it.

This does not do that. This is beautiful. In fact, when I get this game I'm gonna use Mandarin VAs because the English ones sound like ♥♥♥♥ (similar to Mandarin dubs in English media.)

The main thing I've learned from the popularity of this game: many Westerners posting here are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ racist. I sadly live in the West. At least the money is good....just gotta deal with the racists.
