Fair enough. Might just not be for me then.
I also just realized from the forum, that basically your only defense is dodge/roll.
Unfortunately, this might be a refund. What a shame, the game does look fantastic.
It is. It seems a brilliant game if you're in for a Fromsoft-esque experience minus the role playing aspect (more similar to Sekiro then, I suppose).
Unfortunately I too was expecting something completely different because of the reviews.
You can learn to parry from sidequest.
How far in is that im on tiger boss in Chapter 2 and havent seen anything yet.
Edit: Nevermind found out its from Rock Solid from the Tiger lol.
Then you have Skills for that staff that you develop in your tree. I highly recommend you get the ability to stand up on the staff and put it to the highest tier to go higher and higher and higher, because that gives you the most incredible and strongest strike in the game. You can one shot regular mobs. 2 shot minibosses, I do serious damage. It's a big bosses with it. It also gets you out of that range a lower a tax. Then you keep holding it until you go higher. Higher higher higher than release once it turns red, that means you're at the heights tier, and it's the most powered.
Then you have your spells. They work off the manor you earn those and collect those, and then you can assign them. You'll have to use the ones that work best for you. I never removed the one to actually freeze an opponent in place. As that's how I get my big hits in it works on most bosses as well. Then I really call my monkey form guys to help dill. Massive damage when you get that tiered all the way up, they can censure this sull. How many boss on their own?Are you gonna handle other things.
The other two skills you can change, if you like.
Then don't forget your souls. You set your soul that you retrieve from a boss or a med.Enemy. Once you get in the story where you're able to have the bag to actually collect it every time you fight one of those boxes or many bosses, and you see a blue colored orb, and sometimes a cut might change on certain enemies go up to it. And retrieve it, you can then set it under the area to the right of your armor.
When you hold down the 2 triggers to activate it, you'll use that ability. I'm the enemy remember. There's a large recharge timing. Also, it requires a massive amount. Charge on some of them that are stronger.
all monkey from flower fruit mountain are trained by sun wukung, so they are all specialize in staff combat... giving them different weapon might break lore.
transformations have different weapons btw.
Smash stance alone plays like monster hunter's greatsword + longsword combined in that it can both parry(use heavy attack after a light attack, timing it correctly results in taking no damage and has option to chain into mid of light combo or another heavy) and have reduced damage/stagger(hold heavy to charge it) while attacking with it.
The weapon looks like a staff but just like irl it's actually versatile.
You can counter with immobilize
You can dodge
You can parry with stone skin
You can parry with resolute strike
And if you use all these.... you're a God in this game xD
