"It's just a souls like game that looks like Sekiro" is exactly the why Chinese players have to say things like this. Because a lot people either don't know or care to learn and differentiate these cultures and just think its "Asian" looking.

Black Myth Wu Kong is based on a character from a famous Chinese literature "Journey to the West". The book is inspired by a real Tang dynasty monk who traveled to India and brought over many Buddhist literature to China. In the book Wu Kong is the monk's eldest discipline and accompanies the monk to the west facing many dangers along the way.
