I saw a streamer also recently had the same thing.
I’d also recommend using the ‘tracert’ command to your modem/routers default ip in command prompt in order to gauge whether the problem could be related to your home network.
Outside of network diagnostics, I would recommend resetting/restore to default any and all application settings related to Overwatch 2 be it in-game or through an application like Nvidia Control Panel. Furthermore, I would experiment resetting your systems global application settings in relation to performance such as Game Mode in Windows 10/11 or Global Settings in Nvidia Control Panel.
Check that your monitors refresh rate, aspect ratio and resolution align with your in-game display settings. Your monitors rendering technologies such as G-Sync or FreeSync should be paid attention to when determining what values to adjust additional setting. Look to see if your video cables are connected to your graphics card and not your motherboards I/O port.
I recommend minimising Start Up applications also resource hungry programs while gaming through Task Manager.
Disable any overlays that might be running such as Steam Overlay, Game Bar or Nvidia Overlay.
Finally I would go into device manager and check your peripherals and hardware Power Management settings. I’d recommend unticking ‘turn off this device to save power’.
Ergo, it's not the patch. It's something else that affects multiple people. If the issue were the patch, everyone would be affected. The patch might have caused something that makes your setup (and some other's) not work properly, in which it indirectly causes an issue, but the issue is still actually something else in your PC setup.
if it is, then what is it?
Ergo, as you said, you do not know what is happening.
THINK about this, new update, maybe different server setups that benefits some people and not others, like teaming up a person from Spain and other far, far away.
There are several approaches about how to manage net code including predictive but there is a one real fact... ping and tickrate.
