Moira gets loads of damage and healing on the scoreboard, but that doesn't necessarily translate to impact in the game itself. Countless times I've won a team fight by being able to get kills or big damage as bap or kiri (as well as saving teammates) that allowed my teammates to finish them off, OW2 is a team game so if there's no teamplay in your team it's basically gg.
Besides just enjoy the game who cares what rank you are :D I play for comp points instead of rank now, but if you want to rank up in solo, it helps to switch between heroes that fit your team composition.
In such cases, it’s good to switch to Baptiste, Kiriko, or Ana due to their excellent survival abilities that can win games and finish off enemies effectively. Baptiste is great at predicting incoming shots, like from Widowmaker, with his immortality field, and he can provide preemptive healing to allies and deter enemies with his matrix. Kiriko can pull allies out of the worst situations while giving them significant opportunities with her ultimate, which quickly refreshes part of their kit. Ana, when paired with another well-chosen support, can sustain allies with her biotic grenade, and she is a walking artillery with her sleep dart, self-healing on the grenade, anti-heal that can quickly eliminate any threat, and her nano-boost that can forgive mistakes made by allies or help them realize their potential.
Brigitte, Zenyatta, and Illari (if you place the pylon in spots where people often roam) are great answers to DPS players who constantly move out of line of sight. I particularly recommend Brigitte because she can fend off threats from herself and allies, has decent mobility that helps in reaching healing range, acts like a mini-tank when the main tank fails to create space for their team, can cancel ultimates with her own ultimate, and has a lot of self-healing similar to Moira and Mercy during their ultimates. Zenyatta, on the other hand, is good against opponents who like to dominate, such as Roadhog, Mauga, Moira, or Symmetra, but requires quick switching of harmony and discord orbs on targets. I love his ultimate because it makes allies feel very confident around him. Illari is good when hitscan players are failing, and there’s a Pharmercy duo above your heads. She’s great when there’s a problem keeping up with the game’s pace, and the pylon can significantly help in such moments. Just be careful to place it so the enemy can’t destroy it easily, as losing it quickly diminishes the significance of your healing beam.
It’s hard for me to recommend Lucio because it’s difficult to get value from him since he requires not only good map awareness but also the ability to harass the enemy effectively without risking your life, much like Moira. I don't recommend Lifeweaver because his kit is too complicated to make a difference. The problem with Moira is that she can deal a lot of damage and then heal a lot, but the question is how significant those eliminations are. Every elimination should push the team toward a climax and bring them closer to the objective. If a kill doesn’t make a difference on the map, it means the opponents haven’t been effectively denied their opportunity to perform. Enemies need to be prioritized in terms of elimination so that the most important ones are taken off the board. This causes the opposing team to break down internally, making it difficult for them to regroup.
Mercy is a specific character for climbing the ranked ladder and can be a walking annoyance. I believe her pick is quite situational and depends on the heroes chosen by your allies and their capabilities.
I translated the text due to my lack of skills to write in English (I can only understand from reading and listening) ;)
That's also why it often happens that you see someone being almost like overpoweredly good because they're also stuck in this system while they actually belong in a way higher rank..
you are WAY too limited in your hero pool. especially as a healer.
add ana, kiriko, and illari, even bap and lucio to your pool.
guarantee you will climb.
playing only two (bad) healers isn't going to help you.
being a healbot (mercy) and most kills (moira) just shows you that you are playing the game wrong.
its more likely you've developed some bad habits from playing that long in that rank. Experience-wise, you're probably too good for your rank but the bad habits keep you there. Focus on forming better habits and you'll slowly climb out. I sometimes find myself in that situation as well but mostly in quick play where the skill range is huge. Mostly you get paired with lower skilled players and the habits you develop there kind of stick because its easier there. You become more reckless and forget that you can't do these things in higher elo because there, you get punished for it. Meanwhile, in lower elo, you don't and so you tend to keep doing those things because you're indirectly getting rewarded for it but then suddenly you're in a higher elo game and you're losing, dying too often and wondering why until you realise that you're in a higher elo match and have to revert back to that kind of gameplay.
Mercy need actual dps who can aim.
So in bottom go sawp to scary support like Kiri, zen and Ana.
FYI, down below were some of my replays, I know I have a lot of flaws, hopefully I can level up to gold again :(
Better play:
QJ1V30
E9T0TK
Bad play:
337KKH (We couldn't even walk out of the door LOL)
SM5JSY (I tried using ana, but my aim sucks LOL, i think baptist will suit me more)
You have workshop and you can play qp before rank, gl enjoying long q time once you get more rank tho.
Youre going to have to learn to carry on some capacity to rank up consistently. Which goes above stats. You have to secure the win with steady game-play and strategy execution.
