Brother, nobody is saying to ignore healing all together. You have to understand since healing in general is nerfed due to the DPS passive, supports NEED to input some sort of damage and help the fights since healing is significantly less effective than it was before, thus making damaging more crucial to get a pick.
A decent support will know how to input damage while still try to keep you alive.
Supports brings a lot of value into the table. It's not just about putting out humongous amount of heals that counts. Always keep an eye on your health bar. If you are not getting the heals you expect them to give you, just refrain from exposing yourself too much to enemy fire. Staying alive and helping your dps to make plays will net you the win, while dying and flaming your healers while looking at the countdown will only damage the team spirit.
You seem to be missing the point here.
It isn't the only job of your support to sit there and heal-bot you. An Ana needs to know when healing the tank for a quick shot or clipping the Genji for a kill when he's low is important, she needs to understand when to anti-heal and when to buff-heal.
A Brigitte is your defense against Tracers & Sombras with her anti-dive kit.
Baptiste is a combat-healer, effective at keeping the time alive for extended skirmishes.
Moira is another anti-dive + pro-flank support, she is designed around pestering the enemy back line to keep her healing up or safe-guarding your own back-line more than front-line healing.
Supports aren't just "healers". Declaring them as such would make me wonder how much you understand the game on a fundamental level.
