When Overwatch 2 is still active after nearly 16 years, then maybe I'll listen lol.

Could we by chance stop talking about Team Fortress 2 in the Overwatch 2 forums though. I don't go to these forums for TF2 content. I come here for Overwatch 2 content.

So here's some perspective. Overwatch in the last 24 hours peaked at 61K players, Team Fortress 2 peaked at just under 112K. If we compare the two games last 48 hours reading shown here https://steamcharts.com/cmp/2357570,440#48h their lines don't even intersect because the player count difference. Both are free to play games on Steam. Now we could say that without the battlenet player count that's why Overwatch 2 has lower numbers than TF2. But we also have to think about how many of the battlenet players switched to the Steam version. We could reasonably say that every positive review of Overwatch 2 is a player that switched over from battlenet. Now if we go to Overwatch 2's live player count across all of their platforms there are 357,429 players as of 1 hour ago. This is PC, Xbox, PlayStation combined. TF2's metric of 112K on a single platform, let's also remember TF2 came out in 2007 has been running on a single platform for 16 years and has nearly half the active players of OW2 right now. But by all means TF2 is inadequate lol
