Let's just disregard the fact that there are people who have already played this game for literal thousands of hours already on Blizzard's propriety Battlenet launcher and actually get into the meat of the problem here.

You people do realise there might actually be a reason why people are review-bombing this, right? How many people have been asking literal years for Blizzard to address multiple issues that have been plaguing this game since the beginning? Funny enough most people's concerns aren't entirely focused on frivolous things like representation of minorities. It's more to the fact that the developers are too focused on things like that and tone-policing their community rather than more glaring issues. Things like game balance being glossed over, or the terrible 'freemium' pricing model, or how it took this long for them to finally add in PvE, despite how unremarkable and short it is, as well as the PvP elements not lending too well for a PvE focused game. What about the things that go on within their studio behind the scenes, like the allegations of sexual misconduct (putting it lightly because I don't want to get this automatically flagged), suicide and that fabled 'Cosby Suite'?

These are questions that people WANT to ask Blizzard, but have been entirely disregarded, all while they're busy pandering to people who for all intents and purposes are not interested in playing their games. For blind sycophants who will go to bat for them because of the games they used to produce out of a sense of misplaced brand loyalty. I am not a heartless ogre who just wants to take a fat, steamy dump over a game that has obviously had a lot of talented and passionate people's work put into it. I can totally understand why there are people would want to defend this game because they feel just as enthusiastic as the developers. Having said that, that does not mean people leaving their reviews aren't passionate either, nor does it invalidate their opinions as to why they don't like what Blizzard has become over the last fifteen years.

For too long, the wider gaming community has been disregarded across the board. All in favour of adopting predatory business practices designed to milk young, impressionable and vulnerable people. All in favour of maximum possible returns for the least amount of effort. And when you read in between the lines of what they're presenting you with, while all of THAT is going on behind closed doors, maybe it's time to admit that things are not as they should be and stand in open revolt.

I do not care if they made your favourite game. It's time to look at things for what they are and grow up!
