why do people not like ow anymore?
Besides microtransactions and battlepass locked heroes, why do people not like this game? I still think that the core gameplay is solid.

It's because things like microtransactions and locked heroes are why people dislike the game in it's current state. Also not to mention that they're selling parts of a canceled mode for $15.

in paladins, but they fixed that with a in game "shop" where you can buy CC resistance,so stuns where effective early game but become less oppresive mid to late game
Yeah but playing healer in that game feels awful because your impact on the match drops by 80% by the end of every match. Cauterize is the worst mechanic I've ever seen in a hero shooter.

thats fair, because the role of the support isnt only on healing,it forces you to avoid being a healing bot (something OW2 suffers a ton,and you get reported by not being one). They changed the mechanic this january, now scale the more time passes,so if you want to still being effective healing,is better finish the match asap

Just don't heal until the caut is inactive. Cauterize is the single greatest addition to that game and solves overwatches number one issue.
Imagine if your damage was reduced by 80% when under fire and I told you "just don't deal damage bro". It's bad game design imo. But you're free to disagree, it's why multiple games exist.

It still is fun, but it feels that Overwatch 2 is big step back. They cancelled promised single player mode, replaced loot boxes with way worse and predatory microtransactions, they are not listening to community.
I played it for around 10 hours and I think this game doesnt have something what Overwatch 1 had. SOUL.
It is just hollow version of good old overwatch which doesn't even deserve to be called 2. Rather Overwatch 1.5 or Overwatch reimagined.
Couldn’t have said it better.

The problem with that is that if your DPS isn't flat out better than the other team's DPS, a match will not end quickly. Supports can't do much to "end a match asap". DPS normally carries the game since the thing that matters most is to remove enemy characters from play, but with Cauterize, DPS needs to carry the supports on their backs even harder. Why play support in such a game?

This is literally why caut exists. In a game like overwatch you have to overcome a ridiculous amount of healing to have any impact. Thats why you end up with burst metas/bruiser metas/CC metas/dive metas. Its all a way to bypass the sustain.

I've only spent money on a couple battle passes to support the development of the huge PvE/Campaign/Hero Progression they've announced and showed us.

They clearly don't give a ♥♥♥♥ for players who believe their vision and support games they like.
If we would celebrate games which delivers consumer friendly experiences and boycott the ones who don't, we would have more jewels like Baldur's Gate 3.

I think where we disagree is that I prefer to have the players work around the healing rather than have the game do that job for them.

You work around healing in paladins by breaking los and waiting for caut to disappear before healing.

esports focus when it comes to hero balance rather than just having fun like it was in the first few weeks of launch in 2016
retention-based matchmaking with an admitted goal of forcing people to experience a 50% winrate as much as possible, meaning you'll be matched with completely useless teammates if the game detects that you are performing well
only way to consistently win is to queue with a full stack of players and play the game like you're in a tournament with the optimal team comp and all the rest
I wouldn't mind losing games if not for the fact that losing in Overwatch typically means getting absolutely flattened and not having any fun at all, in other games like Team Fortress 2 I have had fun chaotic games where the team has lost and have never felt too sore about it

Everything that's good in OW2 (characters, gunplay etc.) was already in OW1. There was a post "We are abandoning ow development so we can work on ow2". ( not accurate word by word)
So the overwatch community waited 5 years without any huge updates, the game went f2p, skins no longer free, greedy prices, battle pass and the PvE got cancelled.
5 years= 3 new hero, visual upgrade and a battle pass.
I haven't played overwatch since Sombra came out ,but i feel insulted even tought i didn't touch this game for years.

Lurnaezel 10 AGO 2023 a las 10:33 a. m.
I really want to know in what deep dark cave do some people live in to not know why Overwatch 2 and Blizzard has had so many issues.

Especially when they play Blizzard games and interact with the community.
