New DX12 setting
I have an RX 5700 XT which supports DirectX version 12_1. Why isn't the new setting described in the patch notes available on my end despite every other game having it? Is this another one of those forced raytracing things or just an oversight?

i'm sorry I can't follow, the game doesn't have raytracing and I think it only runs in Dx11

I do now! i'm just not that good at reading English :(, that DX selection came today, it wasn't there yesterday and it is in beta.
I can see it and i have a 4070 ti super and a Ryzen 5 4500
You'll probably have it soon enough. The reason for that, is to make the game more accessible to lower end CPU's (to have more FPS with a CPU bottleneck). It has nothing to do with raytracing.

It needs 12_2. Which your card does not support.

Video Card: GPUs compatible with DirectX 12 Ultimate (DirectX Feature Level 12_2)
Operating System: Windows 10 Version 1909 or higher

If your system does not meet the required specifications, the DirectX 12 option will not be available. For optimal performance, ensure your graphics drivers are up to date.

Yeah, so looks like another gimmick that they are trying to introduce then. No reason why DX12 would work in any game including Marvel Rivals (wink) but not here, especially if they don't plan to introduce ray tracing... there is no point requiring feature level 12_2 for optimization purposes, and if they wanted to reduce CPU overhead on other vendors except nvidia, which offers decent driver solutions for DX11 already and making this whole thing obsolete, then they should have opted for Vulkan instead.

Well shame. But from the looks of it it's buggy and nobody can get it to work right anyway. Maybe down the line it will become available for 12_1 but it's highly unlikely since it's common these days to pretend pre-2020 hardware does not exist and trying to convince us that those cards do not support DX12 when they very well do.
probably was to have Xess and to make it work better on intel GPU since they work way better on Dx12. with Dx12 beta selected you can use Xess but not dlss (dlss only works on dx11 at the moment)

I changed it to dx12 but at some point started getting a lot of crashes.
