Steam deck crashing
Ever since the perks update, overwatch has been crashing on the steam deck for multiple users. I haven’t played on competitive due to the crashing/leaving penalty but I’ve crashed so many times today on quick play that I’m suspended FOR 2 F**KING HOURS!!! And I can’t do anything about it!!! This s**t is getting so out of hand and they need to fix this bull*** ASAP!!!

I just switched to proton 8-05 for now I have no worries about the duration before I couldn't even do two games quietly and with the length of the Stadium mode I let you imagine. The steamdeck is very good, its only problem is to be on Linux, Overwatch runs perfectly well, it's mostly proton problems I think. And nothing prevents you from connecting a keyboard, mouse and a monitor. For 300€ you will never have a real computer as powerful let's be honest

Stop playing Overwatch on trash hardware.

If only I was home and not out of town, and it’s not trash because this has never happened until the perks update.

Weak Ryzen processor - CPU only does 2153 points on Geekbench.
GPU only scores 19,000 -- even trash GPUs from half a decade ago like the GTX 1060 can do 35,000.
60hz screen
Only runs GTA5 min settings at 45fps.

Sorry, that's some trash level hardware. Even a dinky i3 12100 scores 2,231 on Geekbench. Even other handhelds like the ROG Ally are much better.

Just wait until you get home so you can play Overwatch properly.

I’m out of town for 3 more months, so just don’t play a game I enjoy on my free time for 3 months? and I didn’t ask for your opinion, I just want the devs to do something about it.
But i will be investing in the ROG real soon.

I have this problem as well, my endorsement dropped down to 1 and suspensions went up. When I got 7 hours ban on comp, I just gave up and wait for the next day.

So far today nothing happened today.

Steamdeck is not designed for high performance games... not that Overwatch is "high performance" but it's higher than what the Steamdeck can realistically handle. Stick to playing Rogue-likes, visual novels and similar indie stuff that's what the Steamdeck excels at.

If you wanted to play Overwatch while away should've bought an actual gaming laptop.
Those who say Steam Deck can’t run OW2 either don’t own one, haven’t tried it yet or think low setting is unplayable by default.

OW can 100% run fine.

I 100% agree, I’m assuming you’ve never had a problem until the perk update right? Cause everyone I’ve talked to said the same thing

Just crashed now after 2 days of smooth gameplay and my endorsement got dropped back to level 1.

I am fed up. Any slight lag now gives me a ptsd.

Absolutely 🙄
This is just the kind of "PC Masterrace" kindergarten that shows that they have to feel superior to others. Possibly in order to justify the huge amount of money they spent on their own PC. Would be my guess at least. Them being wrong is also just funny. 🤭
Hopefully this will be fixed with the season 16 update.

Hard to feel insulted by a probable Epstein.

Funny I played Yakuza 0 without trouble. And Forza Horizon. And many more.

But it can run OW2. Quite easily. I came here to see if it still could as 6 months ago it easily did. And just started up and checked… yeah. Still plays at 60fps.

I don’t think this guy has heard of things like FSR and that it’s not trying to play 4k 120fps with RTX on. But tell us you know very little about how computers work without telling us.

So because it’s an APU it can actually be optimised. Yakuza games have shown this. And some games even have a steam deck setting. Check my profile. I’ve even played Marvel Rivals on it and got to Gold Rank within 50 games. The only reason I don’t play more is you are against Keeb and Mouse users.

But you are right it’s “trash” hardware because you can’t afford it.
I own both and "running" the game isn't the issue- it can run the game- it's just a tiny azz screen and most games are much better on a bigger screen- this one is no exception.

If given the choice- few would say they prefer to play it on a small screen- and if you have to play it while out of the house- well that is just pure addiction- you might as well get into pills or whatever kids do these days. :)
