What is stadium match making about?

Do not enough players play the gamemode for stadium to not have people around the same skill level? Like I'm Elite 4 stadium (Plat 5 in regular comp) going against Diamond to top 500 players per game. I honestly thought Elite was Platinum level but I'm assuming since there's no placements, player rank can be anything. The gamemode did come out so I might be going off at a brick wall idk.

It uses no existing matchmaking so everyone starts at the same MMR or whatever they use... if anything.

So it is normal for the game to have bronze with top 500 in the current... mess that is stadium. Being high gold - mid plat on average I've had so many games against at least 1 masters+ player dominating the lobby.

That's understandable. It's just that by now I would've thought people would have filtered themselves out by now. GM or Top 500 players in all star, while Plat or diamond in Elite.

Reached Pro 4 yesterday with lucio and it seems the problems are simple to explain
Some characters are really broken like orisa, Moira, Mercy, juno and Cassidy
and Zarya was always a mess and make the matches more difficult
also 10 Comp points for every match win when in the past was 25 points
the map rotation is fine with some flaws like Hanaoka, Place Lacroix and Gogadoro
and the fact they are using the features from the scrapped pve mode

I can agree most characters for stadium are broken except Rein, Ashe and Lucio. But it's just the thought that a Plat 5 Lucio one trick will never be able to compete and rank up with how inconsistent match making can be.
