OW 2 player numbers dropping like crazy!

I know it's normal for the playerbase of a game to dwindle after new season or update, but for OW 2 this is starting to feel abnormal. The player count was peaking at 56607 on 11th Nov Monday and then just went through a freefall to drop to 36320 players on 23rd Dec Monday. The huge drop in player numbers continued despite a new season update, introduction of the overhyped 6v6, new events and free cosmetics, so if this trend is not stopped, Overwatch 2's lifespan will soon be over.

How long do you think this game will last? 6 months? 1 year? 2 years?

6vs6 was a good start to the redemption
also the katara challenge skin for mei was interesting too
passive abilities or even the continuation the lore in writing is something to be apreciated
BUT
company wants to retire and go back to 5vs5
wants to appeal to nobody?
i give this game lifespan to season 20 after everthing goes devoured in flames

6 years of content and maybe 10 of service? maybe more if pve is coming back (i doubt it)

I mean the game's director has to decide for himself. Continue to listen to whiney babies, bossy twits and continue to lead the game to its downfall or does he finally decide to step up to the plate and go with the old way which is what people like.

Leaver penalties in QUickplay can take a hike.

and maybe for once he can actually save face as not being this terrible lazy no-solution solving game director. his choice.

Nobody asked but i've dropped it a year ago due to queue times reaching 20 minutes at night.

I would say losing half your playerbase to a ported mobile game i also a skill issue.
