Game is 100x better than rivals [A RANT]

Let’s be real for a moment: Overwatch 2 is objectively better than Marvel's Rivals in nearly every conceivable way. The gameplay? Superior. The characters? More iconic. The pacing? Smooth like butter (well, most of the time). But here’s the thing—it’s like Blizzard took a golden goose and decided to trip it up every chance they get. What’s the biggest offender? Quickplay. Oh, Quickplay.

Why am I getting shoved into losing lobbies not once, not twice, but FIVE OR MORE TIMES IN A ROW? It’s like Blizzard looked at matchmaking and thought, “Hey, how can we ruin someone’s gaming mood for an entire session?” I don’t want to be the savior of some doomed match, I want a fighting chance. Call me old-fashioned, but starting a game where the payload is halfway to my spawn point doesn’t exactly scream “fair competition.”

And don’t even get me started on the state of supports. Why are they so squishy? Playing a healer in Overwatch 2 feels like you’re babysitting a pack of rabid DPS mains who think running headfirst into enemy fire is “strategy.” Meanwhile, you’re getting deleted by flankers with all the grace of a tissue in a hurricane. Buff my survivability or, better yet, make DPS players learn how to peel for their healers. Revolutionary, right?

Speaking of DPS, let’s talk about Ashe. She’s fun, she’s stylish, but she’s forever stuck in the shadow of Widowmaker’s overpowered DPS supremacy. Why does Widow get to one-shot everything from a football field away while Ashe gets to say, “Please, sir, may I have a dynamite crit?” Balance them, Blizzard! If Widow can dome people, Ashe’s B.O.B. should at least break the game like a Reinhardt ultimate.

Oh, and D.Va. Sweet, beautiful, meme-worthy D.Va. Garbage-tier damage output. She’s got the potential to obliterate, but instead, she tickles enemies with her pew-pew guns. Sure, she’s hot, but looks don’t kill—or at least, they shouldn’t be the only thing she’s got going for her. Let her unleash some actual DPS without needing a self-destruct that’s countered by walking two steps to the left.

And this is where Blizzard’s games always show their true colors. Why does every single one prioritize DPS to an insane degree? It’s not just Overwatch 2. Go back to World of Warcraft: “Oh, you’re a tank? Cool, but let the hunter do all the fun stuff.” Starcraft II? Guess what? DPS micro wins wars. Even Diablo Immortal gets a little of that DPS favoritism. Honestly, the only peak Blizzard game that nailed class balance was Diablo 3. Yep, I said it. Barbarians were beasts. Wizards were gods. Even Witch Doctors could throw down. That’s how you do it, Blizzard.

So, yeah, Overwatch 2 is infinitely better than Marvel's Rivals. But Blizzard, for the love of everything holy, fix your matchmaking, support survivability, Ashe’s DPS, D.Va’s damage, and stop worshipping at the altar of DPS mains. This game has the potential to be a juggernaut, but these decisions are holding it back.

In terms of quality and balance, it's 100% for sure.

And yes, support feels really bad in MR Rival compared to OW

But it's important to understand that a lot of casual players want something very different, and because casual players are VERY bad at the game, they need a VERY different balance, which is why balance around fun doesn't really threaten the OW player base

So don't worry about the OW player base, Marvel Rival will get more players to play OW, and competition is good for the genre.

Overwatch hasnt been great since 2017, overwatch 2 is even worse, they decided to do 5v5, no PVE content, Overpriced skins, recolors of every skin, matchmaking got worse, yea rivals is just better as of rn

Playing tank is horrible in this game, both in 5v5 and 6v6.

Overwatch the concept and game as a whole isn't the issue. It's just the piss poor management of the game. Honestly I don't enjoy playing neither OW and MR, Overwatch could of still been a top tier elite game if they just delivered what they had promised. They're acting as if they can't re work to make a PvE
