So basically to get even just the first red tag you need to win something like 4 games in a row?
Yeah lol I better find a group.
Well, regardless I already have the flashing red tag now so all good.
Thank you very match, you save me!
From doing my full drive what I noticed that usually tends to happen is you need 3 wins per threshold. If you manage to maintain a winning streak, 5 wins gives you 2 level tresholds.
If you're reset to the minimum of the threshold you're at it'll always take 3 wins in a roll to complete it and you're sometimes allowed a defeat in between if you lose the minimum amount of SR due to team mismatch and stuff like that.
At least that's what I noticed. I've finished my drive already. It is not as fun as I thought it would be. Just adds another layer of anxiety to matches because there's yet another thing you'll lose if you lose a game.
My advice is to not tryhard during you placements match (or you do a 3/5 lose streak) and then you tryhard so you get easier games. (just to be clear i did not throw games i was only under-ranked)
This system is kinda bad beause it incentivise players to throw in order to gain the competitive drive easier,
I like the idea of gaining something for tryharding one time each season, but they should remove the loser penality.
edit: and don't stomp the enemy team, the mathmaking can see if the game is a stomp and increase your hiden MMR higher so never do more than necesary, make the enemy team think they have a chance
Exactly. The Drives system as it is right now emphasizes the broken matchmaker even further and rewards intentional deranking in order to get easier win streaks. It also completely undermines Blizzard's purported ideal of making losses feel less impactful and decrease toxicity.
They really showed their continued incompetency in developing mechanics for the game with this one.
exactly, thankfully it is an easy fix, but as i like to say, i prefer devs that try things than a stalemate, so i will keep my complain for the next patch.
