Black screen mid game. PC freezes.

Has anyone had the issue of the screen just going black mid comp game? It just goes black and i can hear discord and everything and i have to restart it or wait for it to simply reboot on its own. It seems to only happen on overwatch comp games since ive played quick play
and plenty of other games for hours and no black screen.

Things ive tried:
-Checked temps and everything is fine.
-Updated drivers.
-Scanned and repair the game.

Specs:
ryzen 3700x
rtx 3070
16gb ddr4
650 psu

Hopefully someone knows a solution.

That's strange for you to mention to have no issues regarding the hardware's temperature.. As that was exactly my problem before.
I hadn't locked FPS, so the hardware was pushed for more and more, until it overheated and shut the software down mid-game. The solution was to limit the FPS, so the hardware doesn't push itself that hard and the temperature can be regulated well enough.

What you're describing sounds like a software related issue, so I'd suggest trying to cap your FPS.. Experiment with it a little, see how it works.
Yes, and that's even if it becomes necessary to limit it below your monitor's refresh rate.

i have put it to max 200 fps but it still happens:/

Maybe go see in "event viwer" critical messages? And post it here

discord issue with hardware acceleration. their new update to discord has been causing this for a bunch of people. Gotta turn off hardware accel in discord and turn off discord overlay.

You can still chat in discord. but this being used causes that. Just IQ 5000 problems with discord failing to test their stuff out before releasing it.

Bro, the same thing happens to me too. I don't know what's going on, but suddenly after 2 or 3 minutes of playing the screen turns black or pink, and this doesn't happen with other games. I thought it was my PC...

Alright ill try the discord thing. Havent been playing any comps lately cus it just sucks getting more bans but ill have to try soon.
