They have loot boxes for ow1 is because ow1 wasnt free, and now they make ow2 free so that they can insert more in game payment and make money, but tbh no one is going to focus on if you got the fancy new skins or not(using MHA skins would even get you hated). Still you can get free coins by finishing challenges as i remember.
