How to fight Hog as tank?

Playing tank, I struggle HARD fighting hog, no matter what hero I play. Is there some specific playstyle that works best against him? It feels like I never get Ana players in my games against hog as well, so that probably contributes a lot to my pain. Also I'm ♥♥♥♥ at hog so I can't mirror match.

As a Hog player, what I hate most is good Hamster or Doom going for my back-line. If you can play them, do that.

When I go against a good hog, my go-to is Orisa, fortify helps against most of his kit, spin can help you swallow some of his ult and maybe push him off away from your team, and javelin is really good to keep him in check especially when he hooks someone.
I also go for Mauga if I have good healers (especially if hog doesnt)
JQ is also a pretty decent pick cause you can help your teammates survive hooks with the Shout and your ult (if properly timed) is great against him.
Ram, Rein and Sigma can also work.

I think Hog's biggest weakness is he doesn't have any sort of mobility options or barrier so he sucks up damage really quick. You just need to focus him down and stay out of range of his hook if possible.

Many ways to counter Hog as tank. But you will have to accept that if the Hog is good at hooking your backline the only thing you can realistically do is trade supports.

Mauga and Dva are good Hog counters because they can deal a lot of damage on his humongous hitbox quite easily. Dva has the added benefit of having the flexibility of killing Hog off directly or attacking his backline -- though note that Hog is also good at dealing damage to Dva (if Hog plants his trap and hooks you the Dva he has a good chance of coming out on top in the exchange). Anyone who can take out Hog's backline quickly is a solid counter for him, that includes Winston and Doomfist. Dva can do it too but is more vulnerable; Dva is more of a skill matchup against Hog than an actual counter.

You can brawl with Hog, Hog is not the terror he used to be back in OW1, Reinhart is very good brawling into Hog, you can also protect your team from his hook with your shield. Ramatra can bust Hog down when going Nemesis even through his vape. But really the easiest way to DPS Hog down is with Mauga.

You don't need Ana to counter Hog, though Ana certainly helps and is still Hog's single biggest counter. Ultimately, when tanks brawl against each other it comes down more to the skill of the supports than the skill of the tanks. It comes down to how good the supports are at surviving the tank and DPS and doing their job keeping the tank up. If you don't have Ana and your supports aren't up to par then you can try Junker Queen her ult does wonders.

To me, it's whichever tank can get away after being grabbed by the hook or can deal tonsa damage in a short amount of time - Thus, D.Va, Reinhardt by slamming him into the wall since Hog is slow and plays close range which benefits him, or.. Zarya who absolutely melts through him.

Naturally, depends a lot on the rest of my team's composition.
I can't go Zarya if I've got Zenyatta and Mercy, for example.. There's no way I'd be getting enough healing.

Wrecking Ball, It's not about doing much damage for that reason you have DPS in your team, just distracting and annoying him, eventually he will be screw up. keep in mind that fighting with hog is a battle of endurance, Stay alive as long as possible, long enough for your team to do something

If you're Rein, wait for Ana to splash the hog, then charge him.

If you're Dva, kite him around matrixing his damage until Ana splashes him, and then burst him down.

If you're Winston, swap to some other tank and wait for Ana to splash him, etc

Dva micro missiles and shield
Wrecking hammond with grapple and movility
Orisa just is the same case as mauga spam abilities
Winston dome and tesla gun
Junkerqueen carnage and knife combo with commanding shout to endure the freight
Or just go roadhog and manage well the chain hook.
And scrap gun shots too
