Mercy skin was top of the sales charts. Does that mean Blizzard is right to focus on skins?
I'd much rather we get more maps and heroes but it seems like the focus will remain on skins.

Remember the first cash shop mount they introduced in World of Warcraft? It outsold StarCraft 2

Skins are their main source of income. Battle-pass is second close.

Maps & Heroes cost money to make and where do this money come from?.

Believe it or not, cosmetics sales are some of the gaming industries most successful ideas. It doesn't matter what game you play, people love to show off unique cosmetics that few people have. It's all part of expressing individuality and such.

While people may be buying the Mercy skin in droves, many are using the skin right now. Others will save it for when they see the skin in less use and equip it then. And, some simply bought the skin strictly for aiding the cause behind it.

In any case, cosmetics are one of the biggest sellers in any video game.
