Not doing a good job with LGBTQ
Now, I’m not LGBTQ myself, but I have no problems with them and fully support their community. However, I feel that this game just doesn’t do a good job with their LGBTQ characters. Nobody likes an LGBTQ person who makes being LGBTQ their whole personality. Almost every LGBTQ character in this game does that. “Here’s a cool new archeologist hero. ALSO THEYRE LGBTQ. Did you know that they’re also lgbtq? Oh yeah, one more thing. They’re lgbtq.”

we are not scientist doing science, i am talking about in the context of social situations
it's not socially acceptable to use science as an excuse to disrespect someone
It's not disrespecting someone if I am telling them the truth. And the proven truth is that if you're XX then you're a Female. And if you're a XY then you're a Male. That's just how it is. Look from any angle, socially, philosophically, realistically.

You can only change it via Transforming and I do not recommend it. It's not just some Social statue like your relationship or what place you are in LGBTQ+.

I simply don't have to live in your delusions by thinking "I can be both".

Because in reality, you can't.
Gender identity doesn't really have anything to do with chromosomes. Your argument is meaningless to anyone who respects gender identities.

This.

Also these character's gender identity isn't all of the character or even brought up outside of being mentioned once. People are just choosing to focus in on that. Says more about them then the game character.

Sexualities/Identities of characters doesn't change gameplay at all, but like I said it's to do with lore and when you mention a character is LGBT+ in said lore then everything else is ignored and the only thing brought up is what they are. It doesn't have to be brought up in game by any means

It make sense... from the Lore side make sense to say that soldier is gay because when that was mentioned Ana and Jack were sharing their feeling as old friends that miss the families that they left behind to try to fix the things that the screw up... so Yeah, make sense that they share that they miss their significant other and hes dauther.

OW is just not the kind of community for LGBT+ space

What are you talking about? Overwatch always has been a game that scream very loud that they want to be a safe place for the LGBT+ community... Again.. do you know the team behind OW?

LGBTQ is not the same as "Pronouns Warriors" who doesn't understand the concept of gender. And seeing these people pushing non-existent "Gender" aka Non-Binary is very saddening.

Non-Binary doesn't make sense. You're either XX or XY, its in your DNA. You can live however you want, fill your personality with queer acts or rainbows or your sexuality being hetero, ♥♥♥♥, bi and so on.

I am really tired of people pushing this no-sense as a normal thing because It's not. The whole movement is stupid for me.
Then why the ♥♥♥♥ do we call bastion, ramattra, and zenyatta boys. Wouldnt that make them non binary (ha ha coding joke) by your own logic?

Saw the new trailer. Venture is annoying both physically and emotionally. Will not pick.

Another result of SweetBabyInc shenanigans, many such cases.

The thing is Gender identity doesn't exist. Because Gender itself is not a social statue like your relationship statue or how many kids you have or your hair color and etc.

Again, you may disagree but the reality is you are either XX or XY, nothing else.

I never called them a "he", not sure people call them "he" when they made out of metal literally.

I called them "It" because they are just robots. They have no XX or XY genes. Venture is not a robot, therefore she is either XX or XY.

Do you even know the kind of players that OW has garnered since its release? There is a large amount of discriminatory players that play this game despite how open Blizzard is with LGBT+ representation. Its not safe for LGBT+ people because of that, you will be met with constant toxicity and the report system can be abused to get the wrong people banned. Let's not pretend that the Overwatch community is some saintly place for queers.

Despite the fact they're robots, they have sentience. Bastion as far as I am concerned has always been considered they/them/it but Ramattra and Zen are very obviously male coded robots seeing as female robots like Echo and Orisa exist.

Funny enough, OW1 was never about LGBTQ or forced DEI wokeness movement. And no, game gathered the same playerbase of people who has it today.

Back then characters were cool, none of them had this forced diversity of non-existing gender "identity" or it was all about this queer movement and so on. It had a solid story where Overwatch was once a supreme team who tried and save people and save the equality between omni's and humans.

But then story shifted on, characters started to gain "Gay" or "Lesbian" status, breaking the immersion completely. So no, Overwatch never been this "safe space for LGBTQ+ and pronoun warriors".

Overwatch was a game that had a cool story behind it with amazing stories they provided such as "Dragons" cinematic, "Honor and Glory, "Hero", Even the first ever origin story of Solider-76

https://youtu.be/byhvUmpAA9c?si=s7PsTehpYgL6QW6z

It has nothing to do with LGBTQ+ but now everything has to be LGBTQ+ or include pronouns as if they matters. And since its so forced, it ruins the game and overall the feeling it once had before.

Same kind of players that play VALORANT and do the same comments by the fact that Killjoy and Raze are on a Lesbian relationship... I can tell you that OW is way more friendly towards Females and LGBTIQ+ players than other games... even mopre after the release of VALORANT.

"When character were cool"... Tracer has been lesbian since the release... I think the problem is that you have coded in your mind that the only "cool" part of the LGBTIQ+ are the lesbian because you have some kind of fetish with that or I dont know.

To me seems like in reality you never realized what OW was about... saying this is like saying "Xmen is not about the LGBTIQ+ community, back in the day XMen was cool".

I just want a balanced game......Sexuality and all that nonsense doesnt belong in video games
Burchmeister 29 MAR 2024 a las 20:43
This stupidity is getting old and ruining a good game. Nobody really cares about this stuff, and they never will. Why? Because it is not based in fact and reason. It is based on personal feelings. Feelings are personal, facts are global. If you can't understand that, then you need to expand your worldview beyond your own personal feelings.
CrossDressiNate 29 MAR 2024 a las 21:05
Oh hey, look, the same exact opinion that centrists, classic liberals and conservatives hold about LGBT people, but from someone who is gay. If only the mainstream knew we were right.

You're just choosing to be ignorant, you compared another awful community to try prove a point but failed to realise Overwatch is just as bad; the only difference is that Overwatch has had a toxic community for longer because it was released way before Valorant. Also, why did you irrelevantly bring up women in an argument about LGBT+?
