Also these character's gender identity isn't all of the character or even brought up outside of being mentioned once. People are just choosing to focus in on that. Says more about them then the game character.
It make sense... from the Lore side make sense to say that soldier is gay because when that was mentioned Ana and Jack were sharing their feeling as old friends that miss the families that they left behind to try to fix the things that the screw up... so Yeah, make sense that they share that they miss their significant other and hes dauther.
What are you talking about? Overwatch always has been a game that scream very loud that they want to be a safe place for the LGBT+ community... Again.. do you know the team behind OW?
Another result of SweetBabyInc shenanigans, many such cases.
Again, you may disagree but the reality is you are either XX or XY, nothing else.
I never called them a "he", not sure people call them "he" when they made out of metal literally.
I called them "It" because they are just robots. They have no XX or XY genes. Venture is not a robot, therefore she is either XX or XY.
Funny enough, OW1 was never about LGBTQ or forced DEI wokeness movement. And no, game gathered the same playerbase of people who has it today.
Back then characters were cool, none of them had this forced diversity of non-existing gender "identity" or it was all about this queer movement and so on. It had a solid story where Overwatch was once a supreme team who tried and save people and save the equality between omni's and humans.
But then story shifted on, characters started to gain "Gay" or "Lesbian" status, breaking the immersion completely. So no, Overwatch never been this "safe space for LGBTQ+ and pronoun warriors".
Overwatch was a game that had a cool story behind it with amazing stories they provided such as "Dragons" cinematic, "Honor and Glory, "Hero", Even the first ever origin story of Solider-76

It has nothing to do with LGBTQ+ but now everything has to be LGBTQ+ or include pronouns as if they matters. And since its so forced, it ruins the game and overall the feeling it once had before.
Same kind of players that play VALORANT and do the same comments by the fact that Killjoy and Raze are on a Lesbian relationship... I can tell you that OW is way more friendly towards Females and LGBTIQ+ players than other games... even mopre after the release of VALORANT.
"When character were cool"... Tracer has been lesbian since the release... I think the problem is that you have coded in your mind that the only "cool" part of the LGBTIQ+ are the lesbian because you have some kind of fetish with that or I dont know.
To me seems like in reality you never realized what OW was about... saying this is like saying "Xmen is not about the LGBTIQ+ community, back in the day XMen was cool".
