What happened to the matchmaking

It's like there's hardly any difference between QP and Comp anymore. I just wanna relax and have fun and not constantly sweat just to edge out the enemy team.

The issue is the attitutde of most F2P players isn't gonna allow chilling and goofing off in QP, pretty much won't be able to have fun with enemy team typically cuz they're all try harding and if you do it your team will likely flame you especially if they can see scoreboard lol.

Haven't played in almost a week now and honestly I don't miss OW.

You have to notice the difference between qp and Ranked. Ranked is just an extended qp, and of course, you get a ranking based on your W/L, performance, and a few other factors that we can now see since season 9. That is how the devs want qp to be as well, especially after they made the leavers' penalty in qp more intense. Then again they did that based on the community feedback. Many people dislike how Ranked works which is why they play qp with the same level of competence that they would in Ranked.
I understand you have your reasoning for wanting to play qp rather than Ranked, but if you're a returning player and see yourself putting in the time for the game, then honestly go for Ranked because there's not much difference as you mentioned.

In any case, you're free to play the game however you want. You can go for gimmicks or play the not so good heroes, but know that your teammates might get back at you if they see you underperfrom (through the scoreboard ofc), and your enemies won't hesitate to get you if you give them any openings. They may not care even if they see you intentionally show them that you're trying chill.
I'd suggest you try Arcade and the modes made by community. The timely events can also get goofy at times.
Aside from all that, OW2 is a game that takes itself pretty seriously, and the community seems to believe it so. There is another similar game that is way more goofy, and a fun alternative to OW whenever you want to escape from OW. I think you probably know its name.

You gotta play at certain times of the day to avoid sweaty quickplay lobbies.
But I agree, quickplay is pretty bad if you're just trying to play casually and has significantly more toxicity than ranked.
