Is there an actual reason they won't make Genji stronger?

This game is genuinely unbearable to play as Genji. Every single match has someone who HARD counters Genji. It's mostly just Cassidy though.

i remember theres a lot of choices to maxx the genji power in competitive or even in unranked.

They aren't wrong though. That is the goal of SBMM, which most pvp games use nowadays. To always make sure every player is playing their absolute sweatiest at all points in time, and using your teammates scathing words and harassment as "motivation" anytime you choose to not play at 100% optimum efficiency, aka, not playing your absolute best and using characters/weapons you hate simply because its the best one for the job. Gone are the good old days where it just matched by ping and the results of the match didn't matter because nobody cared about anything outside of their own personal performance/enjoyment.

Granted that doesn't apply in OW because OW uses EOMM, which is significantly worse than SBMM, but the same point still stands. The days of simply being allowed to play a game with other people with the intent of having fun are long dead and buried.

They are far from dead, you just have to find the games that are the right fit for you...

The problem with ow2 is that it's a more competitively driven game, that's trying desperately to pretend it's a hyper casual game.

If you're having trouble on genji, you're bad. Full stop. I know GM players who main him and do well against GM players who pick those same counterpicks you complain about. He has one of the most flexible toolkits in the game. Just watch some vids and work on improving.

It's not just support mains, no one likes versing good Genjis. Supports just get the other end of the stick having to deal with a Genji who thinks he can ult in a 1v5.
