I am new to this game!
So, I have been playing this game because a friend of mine recommended me to give it a try, so far I enjoy the game, but I really dislike the prices on cosmetics however it doesn't affect me that much.

Anyways, I have been playing mostly as Ana, Cassidy, and Zarya.

I started to get the hang of the characters, but it feels like there is a lot to learn, as well as there so many characters to experiment with, but in the meantime I will stick with the three on quickplay since I am not that confident to get into comp yet.

Oddly enough, I don't play multiplayer unless with a friend but damn... OW2 is kinda the exception here.

ngl I really missed out on some good stuff when OW1 was around.

As someone who is recently returning for the first time since OW1, I agree with the cosmetic point. I guess they must have lost out on a decent bit of money when people no lifed and got loot boxes on level up or something because the battle pass and mostly paid system screams money hungry.

I wish the loot boxes were still a thing. I know a lot of people didn't like them but I appreciated the grind and leveling up versus this battle pass ♥♥♥♥. I know I am prob a minority but I was also a person who owned everything from OW1 and grinded it out. Whaling is just a big sigh as is all these cosmetics that will never come back ever.
How to enjoy ow2 and not get scammed:
Step 1 - uninstall ow2 to avoid blizzard’s invasive anticheat and key loggers
Step 2 - watch all reuploaded PVE cutscenes on YouTube.
Step 3 - install Team Fortress 2 (or other class based shooter of preference that isn’t ow2)
Step 4 - ???????
Step 5 - thanks and have fun.

Get out of this game, it is most toxic and hard hacking there is. Just wait til Marvel rivals come instead.

Or deadlock

Better yet just play tf2 (titanfall 2 or team fortress 2, both are good) and try out deadlock or marvel rivals when they have been released

May I ask, why'd you suggest those heroes in particular?

I'm new to the game myself, but I can't even imagine switching from D.Va-Sombra-Widowmaker-Mercy-Brigitte whom I've touched and wanted to play more and more..

Lifeweaver seems to be quite difficult to learn and grasp how he works in comparison to, say, Mercy or Kiriko. Those are easier to play and do seem to provide higher values to the team even if I play them on what I'd claim to be average or below average level of gameplay.
Sigma and Winston.. Alright, I can admit I have never touched those two.
When I've queued for all roles and got tank role randomized, I've tried out D.Va. Easy to pick out and easy to use. Has a geataway free card aswell, that being her boost, or in case of pursuing some left alone hero to force the enemy team to take time with regrouping.
While both Echo and Zenyatta seem to be quite strong, they're a bit more difficult to use, aren't they?
Ana, Brigitte, Mercy, and Kiriko are all easier to use if I take in mind the support role;
And if I switch to the damage role, Ashe, Pharah, and Sombra, for example, are all easier to use and play with than Echo, ain't that right?
I have yet to touch Echo, but .. Its abilities aren't really up to my likings.

My issue isn't even the price , the skin you won't see it most of time like at least maybe they put better weapons and more vl.

-Tank you need switch all time so play all.
-Support play ana , zen , kiri , switch to brigta if the enemy have a lot of dive.
-DPS play Sojourn, tracer Ashe widdo mccre.

You better play all hero for learn

Lifeweaver is a choice when you need constant self defense, life grip works as a positioning tool to bring the allies from a long distance, near to you his ultimate works as a good AOE
Winston not needs presentation or deep information, his role is very simple and effective Tesla cannon to short/mid range attacks, his dome to defend a certain place to player election, jump to reach high parts of the map or escape from teamfights, the only problem is primal rage, puts winston in a vulnerable position
Sigma set has been useful and balanced since his release hyper spheres to attack, barrier and kinectic grasp to defend and absorb the damage from the enemies, acrretion to stun enemies on the air or starting a teamfight, and flux ultimate working as a stun ability to chain a large number of the enemy team and force them to retreat

Echo works as a carry and as a better pharah bc her abilty to fly, apply bombs in the enemies, use a energy ray to neutralize low health points enemies and her ultimate can copy every hero in the game.
she feels difficult but rewarding.

You are not new to the game I can tell, you just a forum troll like many others in this post. Most likley working for blizzard and afraid of losing your jobs LMAO.

OW is FILLED with russian cheaters and trollers and total unplayable, and that is the big thrus.
Why the REAL gamers still here is because there are no other game similary to OW righ now and ALL is waiting for Marvel rivals, than this is end of story and you have no more job mr. troller

Look dude I loved TF2 but that was way more monetized and is actually unfair for new players.

Lifeweaver is probably gonna have some areas where he can do better than Mercy or Kiriko, but I don't really wanna play with a support that can't get away out of the tricky situation like those two can.
Ultimate is usually poped around two times per a match, sometimes only once, and so that one isn't worth mentioning; Mercy's ultimate makes the gameplay all the more satisfying, to be honest.
Winston is .. What, good at jumping at the enemies? Feels like a bit too weak of a tank in my eyes. I'm all set for D.Va for the current moment, possibly Reinhardt or Zarya.
What I love about D.Va the most is her boost, allowing her to get out of situations under my control, to pursue damaged enemies, or.. To just reposition myself. Quickly. That kinda playstyle rocks and seems to be surprising players so well that playing any other tank would be missing out on this.. If there's not enough healing and am playing Arcade, I have considered picking up Junker Queen due to how straightforward and aggressive of a gameplay she promotes.

I've given Pharah a try today, and.. She seems a bit too overpowered if you have good tracking and can predict the patterns of enemy players rather consistenly.
I'd consider picking her up if there's no Sombra or Widowmaker that has to be dealt with.. Or any hitscan DPS, if possible, as flying means exposing myself to the entire enemy team afterall.
The same would kind of go towards Echo, and.. It's not the gameplay I'd be ready to stick with.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. :Kotori:
