Game with massive performance issues
I have been playing since Overwatch 1 early days and if one thing was positive about this game it has been one of the best running titles that i could play in 4k as well as having a higher framerate.

Now regardless of settings and i tried everything (fullscreen, nvidia extra functions on/off, reinstall, check files, using lowest possible settings and resolution, shutting down all other apps) the game stutters as well as having a rather poor performance in general. Even the battle pass menu has small stutters.

I changed drivers and everything. Most of the scandals i still kept playing from time to time but i cant handle how terrible this works. Mind you other titles work with no problem even having several programs run in the background.

At this point im completly out of ideas how to fix this.
As for hardware:
i7 7800 (i know its old)
32GB ddr4
3800ti nvidia
1tb nvme ssd from WD

Any suggestions are welcome if there is someone who already found out how to fix it.
Also i do not start it with steam now since that would be one extra program (not that it seems to matter).

I think you are one of the very few that have had performance issues with this game. It is pretty well optimized. It is likely on your end- i have an i7 9800k from 2019 and it runs fine.

It is actually one of the few positive things about this trash game. It does run well.

The game runs just fine for me - Stable ~144 FPS despite having over five year outdated hardware.
That said, I've had to clean up most of the hardware outta the cobwebs, as they've been disrupting the heating and sometimes forcing the software to shut off the monitor due to the GPU reaching critical temperatures. Ever since then, I've faced no issues.

I'm no IT specialist, but it sounds to me like your hardware is performing below its minimal level, or better said, at its minimal level.
Perhaps, you could take a look if it's all working just as intended..?
Softwares can use profiles for each videogame and force hardware to work differently, so you might wanna take a look at it..

From what I've read in a few days, most people have fixed their performance issues by upgrading their hardware, cleaning it up, or by using manual graphical settings instead of the automatic ones that are set up by the default.
Those have seemed to be the cause for the game to be rendering at higher resolution or other stuff, causing those performance spikes.

I fixed it and everything i tried until today didnt help.
Yet all i had to do was deactivate headphones connected via a usb c adapter in the audio device setting. Not only does it run fine with 144hz and 4k it seems better than ever.

Was not expecting that to be the problem but it was a recent change i made.
Thanks y'all for the trying to help.

At this point, uninstall and delete Overwatch 2, and play TF2 instead.

Game has zero performance issues. This is one of the most well-optimized and smooth-performing games on the market. Any problems you are having with the game are 100% a configuration issue with your system.

Your system is more than capable of running the game without any problems, even with your crappy CPU. This game is not hard to run.

Any problems you are having again are a configuration issue with your system. What exactly I don't know, you'll have to figure it out yourself. Try rolling back any and all changes you've made to your setup recently. Uninstall stuff you recently installed. Pay special attention to your motherboard drivers, soundcard drivers, USB drivers, bluetooth drivers, etc.

Good to know it was just a simple audio driver issue.
