Why is there a 600 fps cap when you're limited to 180 fps?
I tried adjusting the cap with no results, the fps will be capped at 180 in game =/

Turn off vsync.

Maybe your PC can't produce more.

Vysnc is off and my PC should not have an issue with outputting more fps

Like fr, i have a rtx3050 gaming laptop and why i cant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ see above 240fps on my games? My settings arent even high but my fps usually goes around 130-200.

my monitor refresh rate is 144 so i always have it capped to that. would it matter if i go over? i mean why go over your monitor refresh rate?

I believe it decreases input lag

You may not see the frames, but the game is still using them.

I don't see any reason to surpassing 120fps anyway

it's not the game, it's something with your setup if you can't go past 180

I get 600 with just 4070TI.. without listing your gpu what do you want people to say? Usually AMD when weird things happen. Without a 4070Ti minimum you arent getting close to 600 fps, unless you play at 1080p, which why would you with a powerful card.

I'm running a 4090 with i9 12900Kf, the usage on both is very low and the fps was solid 180, so it looked clearly locked at that number for some reason.
My bad on not listing the specs but it was since I know I should be getting higher than 180

I will check my settings again later but it can't be my setup unless I have something somewhere turned on to lock it and people with similar specs are getting 600 fps
However only overwatch is getting this locked fps issue.

Don't listen to that guy. You will have screen tearing if you leave it uncapped. Besides that, you should cap it at 139 fps and not 144, as that might turn on vsync and cause more input delay.

I wonder if there's an advantage to having very high fps and using fast sync, since that needs 2x your current refresh rate to work and has less delay than vsync.

texture quality on low or high don't have any performance difference (it's more vram but current gpus have more than enough that this is not a problem)

and shadows on vs off is like 2 frame difference

i'm not sure the frame difference for model detail, but setting it to low might give you a advantage in the game, for example on blizzard world if you have it set to low it removes most of the balloons on the map but it also removes details like the pizza in new york and some of the penguins on antarctica
