Can legacy comp pts and new comp pts merge ?

Because I got like 2550 legacy and 200 new comp pts, just wondering if im stuck with useless 2k now or I can expect new shiny weapon soon

You can use legacy CP to only buy golden weapons can't use it for jade but if you dont spend your new CPs they turn into legacy after time.

Competitive Rewards

Jade Weapon Variants have been introduced.
Each Jade Weapon Variant costs 3000 Competitive Points to purchase.
All players will start this season with a balance of 0 Competitive Points.
All existing Competitive Points have been converted into a new currency, Legacy Competitive Points.
Each Golden Weapon Variant now costs 3000 Competitive Points to purchase.
At the end of a Competitive Year, any remaining balance of Competitive Points converts to Legacy Competitive Points.

Pretty sure you can use current to buy gold if you want, but you can't use legacy to get jade.

that is kinda messed up, that means I have to leave 500 comp to convert to legacy only to buy gold which I dont want and got for most of my fav heroes xD fml Blizz

they did it because so many og players would have more than enough comp points to just buy every jade weapon in the game day one three times over

Soo... as of today you aparently cant spend the legacy competitive points on golden guns, or as far as i can see you cant spend the at all... i was waiting for the conversion to buy a golden gun... 4 minutes in the new patch and im already raging lol

I have 2.7k legacy comp points, cause thats not enough for a gold gun does that make them useless?

After the competitive year ends all your non legacy comp points turn into legacy so make sure you have 300 when it rolls around, they haven't said when it ends yet tho
